Carlos Tevez has today apologised to all concerned for his recent conduct.
The striker returned to the football club last Tuesday, following a three month absence from duties, without permission.
Carlos said, “I wish to apologise sincerely and unreservedly to everybody I have let down and to whom my actions over the last few months have caused offence. My wish is to concentrate on playing football for Manchester City Football Club.”
Carlos has also withdrawn his appeal against the Club’s finding of gross misconduct which was due to be heard by a Premier League panel in the coming days.
He has since begun a training program designed to return him to optimum fitness. |

Slick City end Porto's UEFA Europa League defence
Manchester City FC 4-0 FC Porto (agg: 6-1)
Three late goals and Sergio Agüero's after just 19 seconds took the English side through to the round of 16 at the expense of holders Porto.
The UEFA Europa League trophy slipped from holders FC Porto's grasp on a rainy evening in England as goals from Manchester City FC's Sergio Agüero, Edin Džeko, David Silva and David Pizarro consigned them to a crushing 6-1 aggregate defeat.
A goal inside 20 seconds from Agüero was the worst possible start for a Porto side already with an uphill task after last Thursday's 2-1 home loss. All their subsequent possession and pressure came to naught, and their fate was sealed by a late collapse which brought three goals in the final quarter-hour, and a red card for the visitors' Rolando.
Unbeaten now in 16 European home outings, City will look to their last-16 meeting with Sporting Clube de Portugal or Legia Warszawa with confidence, even if they will be shorn of Yaya Touré after his booking tonight. They tightened their grip on this tie after just 19 seconds when Agüero, scorer of the late first-leg winner, inflicted further punishment on Porto.
Collecting Nicolás Otamendi's loose ball out of defence, Yaya Touré threaded the ball back between Fernando and Otamendi, sending Agüero clear to angle a low finish into the far corner of Helton's goal. City could now afford to sit back and look to hit Porto on the counter, something they nearly did when Yaya Touré was foiled by Helton and Agüero by the crossbar.
The visitors had chances of their own, but Silvestre Varela, clear on the left, failed to beat Joe Hart, while Otamendi blasted wastefully over from a corner. Porto's pressure increased after the restart but Lucho González poked a shot wide. When James Rodríguez did find the net from a low Maicon cross, he was denied by an offside call.
Porto's fate was sealed with 14 minutes remaining, when Agüero set up substitute Džeko to beat Helton. Rolando was immediately shown a second yellow card and the visitors' heads dropped. Cue a Silva tap-in, supplied by Pizarro, and the latter's first City goal, capitalising after the ball was inadvertently touched into his path by Cristian Săpunaru

Mancini maafkan Tevez
- AFP |

Carlos Tevez may return to action for Manchester City next week - report
Argentine striker has attended first-team training and may now make his comeback sooner than originally expected after impressing the Citizens' backroom staff with his fitness
Manchester City may have Carlos Tevez available to play after the Argentine reportedly impressed coaches with his fitness upon his return to training.
The Daily Telegraph claim that Tevez's stamina and sharpness have not diminished despite him spending three months in his home country.
The former City captain could now even be in contention for this weekend's Premier League clash with Bolton at Stamford Bridge.
Tevez met with Robert Mancini on Thursday to apologise for his recent conduct after releasing a statement expressing his regret at his actions and dropping his appeal against a fine thought to be worth £1.2 million.
The Argentine has lost £9.3m in lost wages and bonuses over the winter but it is thought Mancini is keen to include Tevez in his side as he looks to hold off Manchester United at the top of the Premier League.
While Tevez will look to help City win the title he win not be able to contribute to his side's Europa League challenge as he has not been registered for the competition.
Citizens team-mate Micah Richards has confirmed he is happy to welcome Tevez back to the club but says it will be '50-50' if the Argentine will be accepted by the club's supporters. |

Manchester City 3-0 Blackburn: Balotelli, Aguero & Dzeko fire hosts five points clear at top of Premier League.
The hosts strolled to victory against a Rovers side lacking creativity, allowing Mancini's men to completely dominate proceedings and extend their lead at the table's summit.
Goals from Mario Balotelli, Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko secured a 3-0 win for Manchester City over Blackburn to help extend their advantage at the top of the Premier League table to five points
Gareth Barry missed out for City with a slight hamstring injury, whilst Yaya Toure made his first Premier League start since returning from the African Nations Cup.
Mancini named Balotelli in the City team after the Italian was an unused substitute in Wednesday's 4-0 thumping over Porto. Yakubu was the lone striker for Blackburn who were without Chris Samba after he left the club to join Anzhi Makhachkala on Friday.
City started really brightly and nearly took the lead after a fine move down the right hand side lead to Pablo Zabaleta crossing for Balotelli, who was denied by a fantastic save down low by Paul Robinson in the opening minute.
The visitors struggled to gain any period of sustained possession in the first 20 minutes as the home side dominated the ball but struggled to create any clear cut chances.
However City’s dominance eventually brought about another effort on goal as Adam Johnson cut in from the right and saw a shot palmed out by Robinson.
The hosts were beginning to turn the screw and a Balotelli free kick again forced Robinson into making a save.
Eventually the Blackburn rearguard could not hold out any longer. After Junior Hoilett was dispossessed, David Silva launched a counter attack and fed Aleksander Kolarov down the left who fired across a ball to the front post for Balotelli to sweep home in the 30th minute.
Blackburn responded encouragingly and wanted a penalty after Morten Gamst Pedersen went down after a challenge from Nigel De Jong but the Dutchman clearly got a toe to the ball.
The visitors didn’t have the upper hand for long as a move down the left from the home side lead to Kolarov sliding the ball across firmly to Silva, he controlled expertly but saw his shot across the goal denied by Robinson.
With Blackburn failing to keep control of the ball chances continued to come for the home side with Zabaleta and Kolarov providing great outlets in wide positions.
Vincent Kompany’s exquisite flick on from a corner nearly brought a second for City but Robinson again came to his side’s rescue before Yaya Toure then diverted the rebound wide on the volley.
Moments later a long ball from Balotelli was set upon by Aguero who outmuscled Scott Dann but his left foot shot from a tight angle went just past the post.
City began the second half on the front foot much like they did the first and they quickly doubled their lead. A corner whipped in was flapped at by Robinson leaving Aguero to smash the ball into the back of the net on the half volley.
The second goal appeared to kill the game as a contest as Rovers looked short of creativity in attack. City appeared very content with the two goal cushion and as the closing stages approached, the end result looked inevitable.
With the home side comfortably cruising to another home victory the only concern for the home fans was seeing Toure seemingly struggling from an injury.
That worry was soon forgotten as a stunning cross from Kolarov was met supremely by substitute Dzeko who headed the ball down low past Robinson.
As the game drew to a close Kolarov and Silva spurred late chances whilst Yakubu finally forced Joe Hart into making a save. However it was City who eased to victory, leaving their fans to rejoice knowing their team had a five point lead at the top of the Premier League. |

David Silva: I want to see out my Manchester City contract
The Spain international is not thinking about returning to his homeland in the near future and stated that he is enjoying life in the Premier League
Manchester City attacker David Silva has declared that he is happy with the way things are going at the Etihad Stadium.
The Spain international joined City in 2010 in a reported £25 million deal after six years at Valencia, as Los Che were forced to sell some of their prized assets to balance their books.
After a somewhat slow start to life in England, Silva has become a key member of Roberto Mancini's squad and the 26-year-old is not thinking about leaving anytime soon.
"I was very happy at Valencia, but because of some circumstances I had to leave," he told Onda Cero. "City were the ones that wanted me the most.
"I am very happy in England, I have two years left on my contract and I want to see it out.
"Right now, I do not want to return [to Spain], I am enjoying life in England, people treat me wonderfully and I want to continue enjoying this.
"Mancini has complete trust in me, which is very important for a player and I am very happy. My team-mates are adapting well to my game and that is very good for me."
Silva then played down reports that Barcelona and Real Madrid were also interested in his services before he moved to England.
"Neither Barca, nor Madrid made any move," he explained. "City were the ones to make a move and that is why I am here.
"I am where I am wanted."
The Spanish attacker also sent a message of support to Fernando Torres, who has been left out of Spain's squad for Wednesday's friendly match against Venezuela after a poor run of form with Chelsea.
"Torres is a great player and he has given a lot to the Spain national team," he added.
"He is not in a good moment, but he will return to his best and he will bring a lot to the team again.
"I am sure he is not well, but he is very strong and I am sure he will pick himself up." |

Tevez returns in Man City reserve game
February 28, 2012
By ESPN staff
Carlos Tevez stepped up his Manchester City comeback when he took to the field during the reserves' Central League Cup clash against Preston on Tuesday.
Tevez managed 45 minutes of the fixture, and was unlucky to be denied by a fine saving tackle when sent clean through on the goalkeeper.
The fixture was due to take place at Chorley FC on Wednesday, but was brought forward 24 hours and relocated to City's Carrington training complex in order to more effectively shield Tevez from the media spotlight.
The club were using the fixture to assess Tevez's fitness levels following so long out of the game, and City officials Patrick Vieira and Brian Marwood were there to oversee the action.
Last Tuesday, Tevez made a public apology for his conduct, having spent three-and-a-half months AWOL in Argentina following a fall-out with City manager Roberto Mancini during a Champions League tie with Bayern Munich in September.
Tevez has reportedly been told that he will not be considered for this weekend's first-team fixture against Bolton, with the game against Swansea on March 10 a more likely target. |

AVB blasts Man City's 'Italian standards'
ESPN staff
February 28, 2012
Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has attacked Manchester City for their style of football and their policy of extravagant spending.
The under-fire Chelsea boss is expected to be highly active in the transfer market himself this summer - provided he is still in a job - as he continues on his mission to rebuild the Blues' squad. On Monday, he hinted at a move for striker Hulk, who he worked with whilst in charge at Porto last season.
The Stamford Bridge outfit have struggled in recent weeks, increasing the pressure on Villas-Boas, and recorded only their first win in six matches when they overcame Bolton 3-0 at the weekend.
Villas-Boas will be looking to overhaul Manchester City, the current Premier League leaders, next season - but he has hinted at a lack of respect for the methods they have employed under Italian boss Roberto Mancini who, until this season, was often criticised for employing negative tactics.
"I refuse to build a team like City," Villas-Boas said. "I don't like the standards of their football. City are an Italian team and they follow the Italian standards."
