Hi all,

do you all read journals? :stp:

at some point of your student life (or maybe even now), i'm sure you all did in a way come across journal articles. so i thought of starting this thread for us to share:
1) what the title of the journal is
2) where did you get it from
3) what sort of articles from journals that you read
4) why did you read it
5) any good journals to share/recommend

basically..anything related to journals...online journals are also acceptable.  probably anyone can give tips to students or even the general public on how to utilise the journals or just lay the good or bad points of journals...

let me start ya..

i think people who are still studying or doing research can relate a lot to this since journals are serious readings, and mostly related to academics.  i do refer to a lot of journal articles, and of course they have to be related to what i am studying right now. i usually go to UM library as their collection of journals is better (at least than one uni lib i know..nf

there are 2 titles that i really favour:
1) discourse & society by sage publications

2) discourse studies, also by sage publications

you can also check online but some sites just display the abstract and will ask you to subscribe if you want to read the whole articles.
this is the site for discourse & society so that anyone who is thinking what am i talking right now can have a peek-->

aisi .... aku access journals frm online database ... ebscohost .... nak senaraikan tajuk2 tu tak terlarat la aku psl da beribu2 lemon ... hahahaha .... journals2 yg aku collect plak merangkumi mcm2 bidang social sciences mcm mass media studies, cultural studies, politics, critical  theories etc.2 ... sage publications mmg quite reputable in academia referencing  psl depa byk publish artikels yg more into critical thinking .... so far aku lom ada favourite journals sbb aku lbh bertumpu pd topics yg aku nak carik pd satu2 masa and certain articles mmg membantu dlm penulisan aku

lupe nak tambah .... ada gak dptkan koleksi jurnal2 tentang ketamadunan melayu frm ukm ... ATMA ada hasilkan  jurnal bertajuk SARi yg byk gak menampil2kan penulisan2 mengenai melayu dan kemelayuan ... tp rasa nya SARI tu dah takde cuma bleh online artikels dia kat website ATMA

hmmmm ... nampaknya skrg ukm da berusaha membuat digital libraries utk koleksi2 ilmiah ketamadunan melayu .... semlm nak carik artikel Sari online kena daftar di www.malaycivilization.com ... usaha ATMA ukm di bawah naungan prof shamsul AB ... skrg kalau nak access artikel tu da kena bayar pulak! hehehe ... nasib aku da save awal2

online journals from local uni's libs i think, are only accessible to members. coz i have access to both um & upm, so it's easy 4 me to get anything
but kalo overseas punya, byk jugak yg ppl can just surf.

aku  amik dua2 sorce..dari online jugak manual library...
dulu masa aku tadek keje aku amik upah cari bahan dr journal untuk bebudak u...
kalau archive untuk budak2 medic tuu biasanya kat highwire press jer aku amik.
sage okay gak...database dier lajuu so tak buang masa

paling aku suka pasal record management journal, lib sc, social sc, IT journal and e-biz journal..

apa pun..online journal paling mudah berbanding nak pi cari kat library... waaaa...
