Aku sudah pun mengundi tapi rasa tak puas hati lak!
Sepatutnya ada dipisahkan kategori2 yang boleh dipertandingkan seperti old ages, middle ages dan modern ages. |

China's Great Wall a top 'wonder'
LISBON, Portugal, July 7 (UPI) -- The Great Wall of China topped the new "Seven Wonders of the World" in voting by 100 million people worldwide, it was announced in Portugal.
Joining the Great Wall on the list announced in Lisbon Sunday were the Petra in Jordan; Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil; Machu Picchu in Peru; Chichen Itza pyramid in Mexico; the Colosseum in Rome and the Taj Mahal in India; the ibnlive.com Web site said.
The new "Seven Wonders" stand with the last of the original list of the seven most fantastic man-made structures still standing -- the Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, which were exempt from the competition. The other original wonders selected by Philon of Byzantium in 200 B.C. were the Lighthouse of Alexandria; the Temple of Artemis; the Statue of Zeus; the Colossus of Rhodes; the Hanging Gardens of Babylon; and the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus.
Actor Ben Kingsley, host of the grand ceremony, called the structures "seven symbols of unity that reflect and celebrate the cultural diversity of the world."
Among the losing contenders were the Acropolis of Greece; Easter Island of Chile; the Eiffel Tower in Paris; the Statue of Liberty in New York and Stonehenge in Britain.

one of the 7 wonders of the World
Machu Picchu (1460-1470), Peru Inthe 15th century, the Incan Emperor Pachac鷗ec built a city in theclouds on the mountain known as Machu Picchu ("old mountain"). Thisextraordinary settlement lies halfway up the Andes Plateau, deep in theAmazon jungle and above the Urubamba River. It was probably abandonedby the Incas because of a smallpox outbreak and, after the Spanishdefeated the Incan Empire, the city remained 'lost' for over threecenturies. It was rediscovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911.
In short - vote for Machu Picchu,

The Roman Colosseum (70 - 82 A.D.) Rome, Italy Thisgreat amphitheater in the centre of Rome was built to give favors tosuccessful legionnaires and to celebrate the glory of the Roman Empire. Its design concept still stands to this very day, and virtually everymodern sports stadium some 2,000 years later still bears theirresistible imprint of the Colosseum's original design. apsal egyptian pyramid ousted from the list?
sebab Piramid Mesir dianggap atau pun telah dipilih sbg "keajaiban terunggul" dan kerajaan Mesir tknak Piramid dimasukkan dlm list calon utk pemilihan The New 7 Wonders sbb status piramid sbg binaan paling unik dlm sejarah binaan. oleh itu, dunia skrg ada 8 keajaiban dunia termasuk piramid! |

I tak agree dengan patung 'Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil' di masukkan dalm seven wonders of the world. Ia cuma satu usaha untuk menunjukkan kehebatan senibina yang berunsurkan Keristian untuk menyaingi banyak senibina islam yang lebih unggul spt. alhambra, taj mahal, ampangan di Iran, dsbnya. Sorry..No prejudice here! |
