The outfit choices of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has always become a subject of debate as the expensive garments he often wear always divide netizens.
In the past, Ismail was often criticised by his outfit choices as netizens expressed their disappointment over his choices to wear super expensive and luxurious items of clothing.
Recently, Ismail met with Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong at Putrajaya after his arrival in Malaysia
However, something else caught the attention of netizens. Our eagle eyed Malaysians spotted that the Prime Minister was wearing a pair of Hermes loafers which was listed as RM5,100 on the website.
After the picture went viral on social media, netizens were quick to condemn the Prime Minister for his outfit choice. A number of users wondered why he felt the need to put on such an expensive pair of loafers whilst the Singaporean Deputy Minister didn’t feel the need to dress flashily.
Some users highlighted his apparent fixation with branded goods. “I guess he is the type of person who no mater how expensive (the things he wear are), it always looks cheap.”
“Try checking the shoes that Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister is wearing. Who knows, it could just be a pair from Bata.”
It’s his money so let him wear whatever he wants”
On the other hand, several netizens criticised those who slammed the Prime Minister for wearing the Hermes loafers. They pointed out that since it is his money, he should be able to spend it on whatever he likes.
“Following logic, the RM5,000 shoes is not expensive if compared to the salary of our PM. So it’s no issue because he can afford it and it is suitable for his official duties

Kena ingat dia PM. Walaupun gaji dia mampu utk beli tapi utk image and also his position dia tak patut pakai anything flashy showing brand. Tengok Singaporean counterpart tu je cukup. Kemas, terletak..tapi boleh teka ke brand apa? Ni bukan masalah able to spend ke tak...

Ini budaya kita ....if you have it flaunt it...tapi berbeza dgn budaya serta pegangan pemimpin pemimpin negara jiran kita yg satu ini....
At the end of the day.....You are still a public servant...though a leader you maybe...you have to set the tone and be examplary to the people.....dress appropriately never extravagantly.... |

Setuju dengan komen uols....ini bukan pasal mampu ke tidak untuk pakai atau gunakan pakaian/accessories berjenama semasa acara rasmi.
Ramai ketua negara lain yg lebih mampu untuk pakai barang2 jenama, tetapi tidak ditayangkan logo atau yg terkait dengan nya. Mungkin pembesar dari luar negara menakai pakaian jenama tetapi tidak dipamerkan logonya, kerana, tidak sesuai imej sebagai ketua negara.

Rakyat walau jenis tak berkemampuan macam mana pun ...aku pasti tidak mahu melihat ketua negara mereka sendiri bila ada formal ebent yg melibatkheun ketua ketua atau wakil pemimpin luar negara berpakaian atau berketrampilan dlm keadaan dhaif...tapi bersesuaian ler...dan dalam konteks bersesuaian dan bersepadan iteww tidak pula bermakna kita perlu berextravagant ...contohnya, by one look ko dah boleh tahu a show of luxury wealth...dgn named branded stuff menyelubungi dan menyarungi diri ko......natijahnya, bila ko ada sifat empathy serta tahu akan keadaan rakyat ...walaupun pada hakikatnya ko mampu utk bermewah.....ko tentunya lebih bijak.utk TIDAK melakukheun sesuatu perbuatan atau penonjolan yg boleh mengguris serta mengecil kheun hati rakyat ko bila mereka terlihat ketua mereka mempamerkheun kejenamaan seolah tak pikir nasib rakyat terutama dlm keadaan sekarang?
Tentunya ko paham erti empathy yg seharusnya ada dalam nilai diri seorang pemimpin yg baik kheunz? |
