The United States Department of Justice (US DOJ) recently published millions of new files related to the infamous deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein as part of a law mandating their release last year.

Among the three million pages, 180,000 images and 2,000 videos published, one particular page, showing an email thread on 22 February 2012 between Epstein and an individual whose identity was redacted by the US DOJ, is making headlines in Malaysia as it mentions Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

However, the email has nothing to do with sexual misconduct or visits to the sex trafficker’s infamous island. Instead, the email pertains to politics, with the redacted individual discussing potentially arranging a private meeting between another individual named ‘Jes’ and Anwar.

Furthermore, the redacted individual claimed to be close to Anwar and lauded Malaysia as a ‘gold mine’ for US investment bank JPMorgan, should Anwar become Prime Minister.

An email from 21 February 2012 in the thread reads:

According to local media, ‘Jes’ is believed to refer to Jes Staley, an American banker who has since resigned from JP Morgan following revelations of his relationship with Epstein.

In the email thread, Epstein replied to the redacted individual by asking whether Anwar was thinking of coming to Europe in either March or April 2012. He added that a meeting in Malaysia in May 2012 was also possible, but would depend on when the elections in Malaysia were to take place.

In another email on 22 February 2012, Epstein told the redacted individual:

As of the time of writing, the Prime Minister has yet to address the released document mentioning his name.

setakat maklumat kat atas ada pihak ketiga bercakap ttg anwar... dan potensi nak mcm mana hubungan tu berlaku, nak scam ker nak buat hubungan baik tu tak dpt dipastikan... tp kelihatan spt nak manipulate anwar (yg ini speku sj).. .

cuma satu kepastian memang anwar ada hubungan dgn seseorang yang jadi kenalan mereka spt yg ditulis dlm email, adakah yang dimaksudan si jes?.. selagi tak ada maklumat lain, sejauh mana hubungan tu tak dpt dipastikan..

tunggu dan lihat terlebih dahulu.. mana tau ada yg spill lagi

Puji apa pulak nyah?? Jeffrey Epstein tu pedo & bapak ayam. Kita pulak jadi lubuk emas pada bank JP Morgan tu katanya. Bukannya jadi lubuk emas untuk rakyat sendiri.
