The new Caterham Moto2 team has revealed its 2014 World Championship colours - including title sponsorship from AirAsia.
AirAsia, like Caterham, is owned by Malaysian entrepreneur Tony Fernandes. The team will be officially titled ' AirAsia Caterham Moto Racing Team. '
American Superbike champion Josh Herrin and former 125GP title contender Johann Zarco will race for Caterham this season. The team has agreed a chassis partnership with Suter.
Team Principal Mia Sharizman commented: “Two-wheeled motorsport is a new venture for Caterham Group and one that we believe will be a long term project. It is an exciting time for us and I would like to thank AirAsia for the opportunity.
“ It is great to see their development and commitment to the sport from initially supporting an event, to their backing of Malaysian rider Zulfahmi Khairuddin who will compete in Moto3 class this year. I believe our partnership with AirAsia as a Moto2 team is the next progressive step and will provide an excellent opportunity to develop up and coming Asian riders on a worldwide branding platform.
“ The team is in high spirits and we hope to show our gratitude to AirAsia throughout the year by achieving good results ”.
Caterham will make its track debut in red-and-white during the final pre-season test, at Jerez, from March 11-13.
