In 1933, in an interview with Film Weekly she spoke out against widespread while stereotypical negative image of Chinese characters in American movies: "Why does the screen Chinese is always portrayed villains? And so cartoonish villains - bloodthirsty, treacherous! In fact, we are not. How can we be such as having a much more ancient civilization than the western. "
In 1932 she was awarded an honorary doctorate from Beijing University, but when in 1936 May Wong came to China protesting citizens are not allowed to visit her native village of her ancestors, believing that her work in Hollywood is a shame for China.
In the 1940s, her career has been a decline. Because of the war with Japan in American society has increased negative attitude to all Asians, despite the fact that China was at war with Japan.
Actress died of a heart attack in 1961 after the death Subsequently she was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Interesting veils (from Wikipedia):

In 1936, Wong traveled to China, visiting Beijing and Shanghai. However, because of the protest of citizens who believed that her work in Hollywood shames country actress was not allowed to visit his native village of her ancestors.

In 1937, Wong and wife of producer David O. Selznick were victims of extortion. Someone claimed that they paid him 20,000 dollars, and the money he was going to spend Wong on picture production on his own script. In case of non-maniac actress promised to disfigure and mutilate her father and sons, Mrs. Selznick threatened blindness and disabilities. Both women went to the police and to their homes has been put protection.

In 1942, Wong wrote a foreword to a cookbook New Chinese Recipes - it was one of the first books on Chinese cuisine in the U.S..

The actress was in a romantic relationship with the white citizens of America, but because of the ban on mixed marriages, canceled only in 1948, and never married.

Anna May Wong ni memang artis lagenda Asia-Amerika.

Anna May Wong juga dianggap mempunyai kecantikan klasikal wajahnya.
