Elizabeth (1998)
Elizabeth is an Academy Award winning 1998 film loosely based on the early reign of Queen Elizabeth I of England. The film was written by Michael Hirst and directed by Shekhar Kapur. It stars Cate Blanchett, Geoffrey Rush, Joseph Fiennes, Christopher Eccleston, and Richard Attenborough. It was the final film of acclaimed British actor Sir John Gielgud. It also stars a 12 year old Lily Allen as a lady in waiting, Manchester United legend Eric Cantona as a French lord, and future 007 star Daniel Craig as a member of the Vatican who is heavily involved in the film's central plot.
A sequel, Elizabeth: The Golden Age was released by Focus Features on October 12, 2007.
Elizabeth: The Golden Age
Elizabeth: The Golden Age is the 2007 film sequel to the film Elizabeth. It stars Cate Blanchett and is loosely based on events during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I of England. Written by William Nicholson and Michael Hirst and produced by Working Title Films, The Golden Age is directed by Shekhar Kapur. The film has music composed by Craig Armstrong and A. R. Rahman.
It was filmed at Shepperton Studios and various locations around the United Kingdom with an estimated production budget of 50 to 60 million USD. Guy Hendrix Dyas was the production designer and the costumes were created by Alexandra Byrne.
The film premiered on 9 September 2007 at the Toronto International Film Festival. It opened in wide release in the United States and Canada on 12 October 2007. It premiered in London on 23 October 2007 and is on general release from 2 November 2007 throughout the rest of the UK and Republic of Ireland.
It opened in Australia and New Zealand on 15 November 2007.

A must watch movie! Can't wait!
Cate Blanchett, one of my favourite actresses, pasti akan dicalonkan untuk Best Actress & Best Supporrting Actress sekali gus kat Oscar nanti. Best Actress menerusi filem Elizabeth ni and Supporting Actress menerusi filem I'm Not There. 
Menang tu mungkin tak kot sebab ada calon2 lain yang lebih hebat seperti Ellen Page (Juno) and Julie Christie (Away From Her). ;)

Elizabeth one was not over the top
and everbody was transfixed with Cate
this one sumer kegemilangan ratu andartu nih nak dilonggokkan dalam satu movie
sampai yang tak pernah ada dalam sejarah (example: dia pergi berperang tuh) pon nak bubuh
almaklumlah Bollywood director! kalau dia lagi la)
dengarnya sebelom kuar dulu memang highly anticipated even nak buat trilogy lagi...
tapi sekarang : fall from grace. |
