Overclock i7 920

salam n hello!!

nak mintak tolong skit, aku taktau pape pasal overclock CPU etc. tapi nk try 1st time..so mintak nasihat otai2 pc utk setting overclock...ni spec desktop aku :

cpu : intel i7 920 2.66 GHz
mobo : asus P6T deluxe v2
graphic card : GeForce GTX 285 x 2
ram : 6GB Kingston 1600
cpu cooler : Thermal Right 120 Ultra Extreme
power supply : corsair 850W
hdd : 1TB WD

so..le mintak pendapat tak..
camne nak overclock cpu @ 3.6 GHZ
& pastikan sume stabil...

so mintk pandangan korang yg pakar2...

eheh..  ko leh gak up sket fsb tu.. jangan banyok sgt dah ler... try set fsb ko dulu.. tengok leh run ke tak..

camne nak overclock cpu @ 3.6 GHZ
& pastikan sume stabil...

1. Cooler Fan CPU mesti la bagus.. boleh kawal temp pc (stock non OC) dlm 32~35c (lg sejuk lg bgus)
2. Power Supply.. pastikan cukup untuk pikap speed processor yg mcm tiu..
3. Cara2 oc... pergi BIOS -> ubah FSB... kalau x sampai 3.6ghz oc pun x stabil, try ubah2 multipler ngan voltage (mungkin menyebabkan letrik umah ko melambung mahal )

kalau ade pe2 x paham lg, bgtau yer..

tak pernah try lagik Corei7 nih.. so tak tau la nak jawab camner nak OC
memandangkan Spec ko tu dah tahap extreme aku rasa takder masalah ngan PSU ngan cooler...

kalau tak silap aku corei7 ni lain skit cara OC dia. sbb dia guna QPI...
ntah ler!

utk stabil OC, kena up skit voltage Core kalau tak nanti asik ter restart jer!

Ai Overclock Tuner: Manual
CPU Ratio: 20
Intel Speedstep Tech: Disabled
BCLK: 200 (200 x 20 would give me 4 Ghz)
DRAM Frequency: DDR3 - 1603Mhz (Once you change the CPU Ratio and BCLK, you have to manually tone this back to the 1600 range)
CPU Voltage: 1.33125 (When left at stock, system would post but prime would BSOD after 5 minutes. Increased this and just matched the settings for QPI/DRAM Core Voltage)
CPU PPL Voltage: 1.80
QPI/DRAM Core Voltage: 1.33125
DRAM BUS Voltage: 1.60

No screen prints for the second attempt. I just changed
CPU Voltage: 1.27500 (It was not stable at 1.22500, so I picked this as it was somewhat in the middle)
QPI/DRAM Voltage: 1.27500 (Lowered this as well as I read this one can affect temps more compared to CPU Voltage. Correct??)
All other settings same as First Attempt

For my final attempt, for now, I just wanted to see what I could do at stock voltages. I had seen many comments on this site and others mentioning that just bumping the BCLK to 160 would be all that was needed. I want to add that with QPI/DRAM core Voltage set to Auto in the BIOS, that TurboV was showing this as 1.37500 while I read this should really stay under 1.35. For that reason, I set it manually.
Ai Overclock Tuner: Manual
CPU Ratio Setting: Auto
Intel Speedstep Tech: Enabled
Intel Turbo Mode Tech: Enabled (to get a multiplier of 21 if needed)
BCLK Frequency: 160
DRAM Frequency: DDR3-1604Mhz (Had to manually set this again after setting BCLK)
CPU Voltage: 1.22500 (I set it manually to ensure this value would be used)
CPU PPL Voltage: 1.8 (I set it manually to ensure this value would be used)
QPI/DRAM Core Voltage: 1.22500 (I set it manually to ensure this value would be used)
DRAM Bus Voltage: 1.60

betul2..psu and cpu cooler tu mmg aku pilih yang plg sesuai ngan i7..so rasanya tu dah ok..cume skang ni setting BIOS tu aku tak reti..pape pun thanks utk video tue bro

kalau ko nak 3.6, ko letak la BCLK jadi 180!

tapi jdn la banyak sgt nanti hangus!

OC ni kena banyak try n error... bukan try n spoil OK!

tapi aku rasa kalo nak mencecah 3.6 tu, banyak benda ko kena buat.. silap-silap gaya habis freeze semer...  aku rasa baik stay dalam 3.0 dah le...

slow and steady bro .. jgn terus naik tinggi .. try naik skit2 dulu ..
aku nak tolong tak reti sgt ler .. aku oc AMD je .. tu pun dulu dulu . skang da cuci tangan da ..haha ..

kasi stress test gak nak tgk stable ke tak .. kang tgh syiok2 men game bluescreen plak .. lol ..
