Babi hutan takut rambut manusia
"Segenggam rambut manusia ditabur berhampiran pokok sawit.
- Bernama |

tak naik.
kalau kira logic:
1. tpt tu mcm tingginye ala2 45 darjah
2. laluan sempit dan bahaya (nak naik)
3. nak turun pun, tpt mcm terhad
tapi mungkin jugak naik nanti, mungkin bila..ada satu tpt kat depan tu dah abes renovate..sbb mungkin boleh guna jalan alternative...tapi kalau ikut jalan depan kandang unta tu..mmg bahaya aku rasa |

Save Zoo Negara and the poor animals
I VISITED Zoo Negara on May 3 and was very disappointed with the dismal state of the home of 5,000 over animals.
The animals looked under-fed, dirty and unhappy, surrounded by untrimmed bushes and uncut grass, incomplete renovation and expansion work, filthy walls and drains and other unsightly scenery.
It was widely publicised that this year is Visit Zoo Negara 2009 but unfortunately, not much has been done to uplift its impoverished condition.
The tagline displayed “Towards being a world class zoo” in front of the premises really damages the zoo’s image and the nation’s pride even further.
I do not understand why the Federal and state governments are not supporting the zoo’s enhancement programmes even though it is one of the major attractions for tourists in Kuala Lumpur.
Almost all well-known zoos in major cities of the world are funded or partly funded by the governments.
It is apparent that the gate collection and deteriorating private funds are insufficient to sustain Zoo Negara’s existence, what more to implement all the upgrading projects.
I would like to call upon the newly appointed Tourism Malaysia chairman Datuk Dr Victor Wee Eng Lye and the Tourism Minister to make a surprise visit and see what needs to be done to help the poor animals and to repair the zoo’s image.
FRUSTRATED VISITOR,
Johor Baru. |

Zoo Serangga Tempatkan 200 Spesis Serangga Diwujudkan

Zoo Negara aims for world class
Submitted by pekwan on Tuesday, October 13th, 2009 Malay Mail
Independent consultants to be hired for the transformation
Pauline Almeida
Tuesday, October 13th, 2009 08:13:00
INDEPENDENT consultants will be hired soon to suggest how the 48-year-old Zoo Negara can be transformed into a world-class institution.
This was the decision of a new committee formed by the Natural Resource and Environment Ministry, after a meeting at Zoo Negara yesterday.
Committee chairman Natural Resource and Environment Minister Datuk Douglas Uggah Embas said discussions will also be held with the Economic Planning Unit and Finance Ministry in sourcing for these people — who need to be knowledgeable about zoo affairs.
“The independent consultants will present the recommendations to us, which we will take to the Cabinet. While that is being worked on, we still need to do some data collection and a study on some issues, before a conclusive decision is made on the zoo’s future.
“In the interim, we are also waiting for the audit report from the Wildlife Department on the welfare of animals, facilities and its numbers. However, I don’t intend to disclose this,” Embas said yesterday.
The consultants’ recommendations should be out by the year’s end, followed by its implementation soon after.
Asked about the fears expressed by some quarters that his ministry might be misled by those currently managing the zoo, he said the committee had a wide representation.
Some 15 parties, comprising among others the Finance Ministry, EPU, PSD (for staffing), Housing Ministry’s Landscape Department, Attorney-General’s Office (legal matters) are involved in the discussions. On the request by Malaysian Zoological Society (MZS) chairman Datuk Ismail Hutson for a government grant, Embas was non-committal. “Let’s wait for the full report.”
When contacted, Ismail declined to comment on the meeting. “I won’t say anything. You can call the minister yourself.” Yesterday’s meeting was the second for the committee. The ministry, which aims to look into all aspects of the zoo, held its first meeting more than a month ago.
The ministry’s effort came about after Malay Mail highlighted allegations of mismanagement at the zoo, and calls by some MZS members to urgently hold an extraordinary general meeting so that new members could be elected. |
