GBS infection during pregnancy

dear all,

anyone knows about this GBS (Group B Streptococcus) infection? Heard that it is not that dangerous for normal person, but for pregnant women, if the bacteria is transmitted to the baby during labor, the effect can be severe. ada saper2 yg ada experience tak??thanks very much for the sharing of info.

it could lead to premature labour that much i know ni u kena tanya the medics or BLACKIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

thats what the dr said...tapi dr bagitau during labor nanti dia akan bagi antibiotik to reduce the infection and the risk for the baby to be infected will be also reduced. just want to know about the risk of infection for the baby. how high is the risk? i read few articles on the net saying that if infected, may results in meningitis, breathing problem for newborn, sudden death and many severe problems. is that true??

sound scary...btw, thanks for the link. very helpful kalo dgr citer from those yg experienced benda ni..coz kat malaysia ni rasanya not many are aware abt the importance of goin for GBS test...even ramai yg tak penah dgr pon pasal GBS ni...eventho this bacteria actually the most common causes for sudden infant death...

masa umur kandungan saya 24 minggu, saya ada buat test dan didapati ada GBS. so nanti masa 36 minggu (next week) kena repeat swab la nak tengok ada lagi ke tak
