HILLARY'S EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW BY HONG KONG ONLINE MEDIA LIKEJAPAN
LJ: Hello HiuYau! I am Owen from Hong Kong media LikeJapan. Please give me some advice. Could you please introduce yourself?
H: Hello everyone! I’m Hillary from KLP48! 15 years old this year, from Hong Kong!
LJ: First of all, congratulations to KLP48 and you for debuting as a first-generation member. How do you feel now?
H: I am very lucky and grateful to be a part of this big project. My teammates and I have worked hard to be here!
LJ: How was the training before your debut? What did you learn there?
H: The training process is not easy, but it is very interesting! I like spending time doing things I love. Now I am more confident in my singing and dancing!
LJ: KLP48 members come from different places, how do you communicate?
H: For me, communication is not a big issue. Because many of us can speak English fluently. Additionally, I am also learning Malay and Japanese! So I can understand basic things and make communication easier.
LJ: Do you have a favorite 48group member/song?
H: Yes! Anyone who knows me knows that I am a huge fan of AKB48! My first Oshi in AKB48 was former member Mayu Watanabe. Among the current active members, I like Yui Oguri the best. I hope I can meet her soon! As for a favorite song...it's hard to choose, but I would say 大声ダイヤモンド
LJ: Your profile shows that your birthplace is Hong Kong, so you should be a Hong Konger? Can you tell me how you joined KLP48?
H: Yes, I was born in Hong Kong and lived in Hong Kong until 2023. After that, I moved to Malaysia for study, and then I saw KLP48’s audition advertisement so I gave it a try!
LJ: How long have you lived in Malaysia? Do you miss anything about Hong Kong?
H: I have lived here for almost a year. Malaysia is a great place, I love it here! But I really miss my friends in Hong Kong and I often think of curry fish balls...
LJ: You were also a student, right? Then you need to cope with both lives at the same time...
H: Yes, I am currently in grade 10 and am studying for my IGCSE. It’s not easy to take care of both sides at the same time, but I’m really greedy haha. I want both good results and a perfect performance on stage! So I try my best to keep a balance between the two.
LJ: What are your goals and expectations in KLP48?
H: I hope to create beautiful memories and make fans smile! I hope our songs shine brightly and make many people notice us!
LJ: What’s the last thing you want to say to readers?
H: Thank you for your support! I will try my best to move forward every day. I am so grateful for this opportunity to be an idol! Please continue to support KLP48!
LJ: Thanks for your time. We will continue to cheer for you and hope to have the opportunity to see you in the future!
