Gael Clichy the latest Arsenal casualty Arsenalhave suffered a triple injury blow to their bid for a Champions Leagueand FA Cup double after it emerged that Gael Clichy will join Manuel Almunia and William Gallas in the treatment room.
Clichy has suffered a back injury and will be out for three weeks,while Almunia faces two weeks out with his ankle injury. The worstnews, though, concerns William Gallas, whose medial knee ligamentinjury has been confirmed, meaning he faces being out for the rest of the season.
All three players will miss the Champions Leaguequarter-final second leg against Villarreal next Wednesday as well asthe FA Cup semi-final with Chelsea a week on Saturday.
"We have not the best news," said Wenger. "For Gallas, it is medialknee ligament. He is a quick healer but we think the end of the seasonwill be too short (for him to return). It is a big, big blow, but wehave to rely on the depth of our squad. It is an opportunity for thesquad."
Robin van Persie and Eduardo are, however, hoping to befit for the Premier League match against Wigan on Saturday. "The teamhas had good collective performances," said Wenger. "We are in a strongrun in the league and we want to keep it going. Even without theinjured players we have improved as a team and shown mental strength.Every game we must be 100 per cent.
