Hull City-Chelsea Player Ratings
Hull:
Boaz Myhill: 8
The custodian had a good game against Chelsea, making great saves against Michael Ballack and Deco. Myhill could not, however, keep out Didier Drogba's curler in the 43rd minute as the Ivory Coast striker equalised for the Blues. The Wales international continued to get better in the second half, denying Florent Malouda and Drogba at point-blank range and palming Daniel Sturridges' shot away in stoppage time to preserve the draw for the Tigers.
Paul McShane (off 90'): 7
Played well considering he had to take on both Florent Malouda and and Yuri Zhirkov. The defender knew what he was doing and positioned himself well in defence.
Anthony Gardner: 6
Gardner did not exactly shackled Didier Drogba or Nicolas Anelka, but did well to earn his paycheck for the week. The former sprinter showed his speed in the first half as he cut in front of Drogba to prevent a one-on-one with Myhill as he stole the ball away from the Ivorian for the clearance. Had a chance to double Hull's goal tally in first-half stoppage time, but headed the ball harmlessly over.
Steven Mouyokolo: 8
The Frenchman scored his first goal for Hull City, finding space between John Terry and Ricardo Carvalho to head Stephen Hunt's corner into the back of the net! By the way, Mouyokolo was a rock in defence too, frustrating Drogba, Anelka and Malouda to no end.
Andy Dawson: 6
The left-back defended well against Anelka and Branislav Ivanovic, limiting the latter to just one cross into the Tigers' penalty box.
Craig Fagan: 7
Fagan had one of his batter games, in that he battered the Chelsea wingmen throughout the game, landing elbows, boots and whatever it took to regain possession from the Blues.
George Boateng: 7
The former Middlesbrough destroyer came ready to play on Tuesday evening, rolling back the years to match up toe-to-toe against the much more expensive Chelsea midfield. Boateng harried Frank Lampard and Deco in the middle of the park, getting under the skins of the opposition.
Tom Cairney: 6
The 19-year-old Hull product almost notched an assist in the game, but his surprise lob from the freekick was headed over by Anthony Gardner. Had a couple of chances from long-range in the second half, but he blazed his shots well over.
Stephen Hunt: 8
The source of all of Hull's attacks as Hunt pulled the strings from whichever wing he got the ball. Picked apart Ivanovic on the left wing, and skewered Zhirkov on the right. The Irishman could have had more than a single assist against the Blues had his team-mates been more accurate with their shots.
Jozy Altidore (off 85'): 6
The American striker was all power and no technique as he frequently lost the ball on the dribble. Terrible on the ball.
Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink(off 66'): 6
Another striker who was all brute strength, but at least he played within himself.
Subs:
Kevin Kilbane (on 85'): 5
Did some defending in his seven-minute cameo and nothing more.
Kamil Zayatte (on 90'): N.A.
An emergency substitution for the bleeding McShane.
Amr Zaki (on 66'): 6
Added some explosiveness to the Tigers' attack. Tested Ivanovic and Carvalho in his time on the pitch.
Chelsea:
Petr Cech: 5
It's becoming apparent that the Czech goalie is susceptible to aerial attacks, as evidenced by Hull's headed goal in the first half. Did adequately well after that as he seemed to wake up from his slumber following the goal.
Branislav Ivanovic: 5
Had his bout with the tricky Hunt, and was made to look silly as the Irish international ran rings around him. Terrible display of tactical nous (or the lack of).
Ricardo Carvalho: 5
Was nowhere to be found when Mouyokolo sneaked in to head the ball into the back of the net. Had an easy job against the likes of Vennegoor of Hesselink and Altidore, but those two could not hit a donkey with a banjo in this game.
John Terry: 5
The captain also took the possession off as Mouyokolo scored, maybe he was bored at having to mark the incompetent Tigers striking duo.
Yuri Zhirkov (off 81'): 6
Zhirkov looked comfortable at left-back and bombed forward often to provide an extra man in attack. Had some problems with Hunt, but at least he didn't have to deal with the playmaker everytime the Tigers were in possession.
Michael Ballack (off 72'): 6
Matched the Tigers' toughness in the middle of the park, and almost scored after getting behind Ivanovic's cross in the penalty area, only to head the ball straight at Myhill.
Deco: 5
Looked terribly lost in the game, as he was shoved and pushed off the ball consistently. The Portugal international did unleash one missile on goal, but Myhill was up to the task.
Frank Lampard: 5
We've come to expect so much from 'Lamps' whenever Chelsea play, but the England midfielder looked terribly average in this game, failing to get into the game. Maybe it was all those tackles from Boateng and Fagan.
Nicola Anelka (off 81'): 5
Seemed to defer a lot to Drogba in the game, failing to show any of the form that he displayed when the Ivorian was off for his Angolan sojourn.
Florent Malouda: 6
Gave the Blues some pace on the wings as the rest of his midfield compatriots seemed slow and unmotivated. The Frenchman provided some crosses from the wings and even got a shot off that was well-saved by Boaz Myhill. Had a last-gasp shot blocked by Didier Drogba as Chelsea could only manage a draw.
Didier Drogba: 8
Easily Chelsea's best player as he scored the Blues' equaliser close to halftime, and could have had a hat-trick if not for the heroics of Myhill. The Ivorian did not skip a beat as he went about his goal-scoring business at the KC Stadium. Could have let Chelsea win the game if he hadn't acted as Hull's auxiliary defender, getting in the way of team-mate Florent Malouda's shot.
Subs:
Ashley Cole (on 81'): 6
Showed his class on the left flank, as he charged forward and caused havoc for McShane in his short time on the field. Too bad it did not result in a goal.
Joe Cole (on 72'): 6
Injected some pace and guile into the right wing of Chelsea's attack, but the Tigers' centre-back pairing held firm as his crosses were cleared far, far away from Myhill's penalty area.
Daniel Sturridge (on 81'): 6
Looked more effective than the strangely passive Anelka. Could have won the game for the Blues but his late shot was palmed away by Myhill.

Premier League Wednesday Team News
Everton vs Chelsea
Captain John Terry has recovered from the minor dead leg he collected in the victory over Arsenal and will play against Everton at Goodison Park.
But Chelsea have a slight doubt over midfielder Deco ahead of their trip to Merseyside.
Deco is struggling with a knee injury and may miss out. Michael Essien (knee), Jose Bosingwa (knee) and Juliano Belletti (knee) are all sidelined.
Everton are without Marouane Fellaini and Steven Pienaar.
Fellaini is out with an ankle injury sustained in a tackle with Sotirios Kyrgiakos in the Merseyside derby defeat at Liverpool on Saturday.
Pienaar is suspended following his sending off in the same match.
Mikel Arteta, who replaced Fellaini at Anfield, came through unscathed and could start but Phil Neville, Jack Rodwell and John Heitinga are other midfield options.
Teams:
Everton (from): Howard, Neville, Heitinga, Distin, Baines, Senderos, Yobo, Cahill, Rodwell, Arteta, Osman, Bilyaletdinov, Coleman, Saha, Donovan, Yakubu, Anichebe, Vaughan, Duffy, Baxter, Nash.
Chelsea (from): Cech, Hilario, Turnbull, Ivanovic, Carvalho, Terry, Ashley Cole, Ballack, Deco, Lampard, Joe Cole, Malouda, Drogba, Anelka, Sturridge, Borini, Ferreira, Alex, Zhirkov, Kakuta, Obi.

Dua gol Saha benam Chelsea
- AFP |

Everton 2-1 Chelsea
Louis Saha celebrated his new contract with a stunning double to sink Premier League leaders Chelsea.
The Frenchman, who signed a two-year deal last week, first exposed Chelsea's weakness at set-pieces with a headed equaliser and then fired a brilliant 75th-minute winner at Goodison Park.
Chelsea had shaded the early stages and taken the lead through Florent Malouda but Saha, who also missed a penalty, secured Everton's first victory over the Londoners since 2000.
With Manchester United held by Aston Villa, victory could have taken Chelsea four points clear at the top but Everton's greater industry merited victory.
Sacked England captain John Terry escaped lightly in terms of crowd abuse following recent media revelations but the Chelsea stalwart was caught out for Saha's winner.
And of further concern for manager Carlo Ancelotti was the nature of the equaliser - the 16th of 22 goals this season Chelsea have conceded from set-pieces.
Everton scored all their goals from similar situations when the sides played out an entertaining 3-3 draw at Stamford Bridge two months ago.
This time the Toffees were without key midfielders Marouane Fellaini and Steven Pienaar through injury and suspension respectively.
Mikel Arteta, having recovered from a knee injury, made his first start in almost a year while Chelsea replaced Michael Ballack with Yury Zhirkov.
Everton stretched Chelsea within the opening minutes as Landon Donovan broke clear but the American overhit his cross for Saha.
After that Chelsea began to take control with Frank Lampard shooting wide after a Nicolas Anelka dummy and Didier Drogba heading over from a Malouda cross.
Branislav Ivanovic then volleyed wide but Chelsea broke through after 17 minutes from a route-one ball.
Peter Cech's long clearance was headed on by Drogba and Malouda brushed off the challenge of Phil Neville to drill a left-footed shot low past Tim Howard.
Chelsea threatened again when Richardo Carvalho leapt above Terry to meet a Lampard corner but Howard saved comfortably.
Everton then launched a counter-attack with Diniyar Bilyaletdinov breaking down the left to cross for Leighton Baines but the left-back caught his volley awkwardly and Cech saved.
But the Toffees grew in confidence and pulled level after winning a corner in the 33rd minute.
Donovan's cross dropped over Lampard and Saha rushed in to power a header past Cech for his 12th goal of the season and his first in five games.
Everton almost added an immediate second as Tim Cahill set up Leon Osman on the edge of the area but his shot flew wide.
Drogba pulled the ball back from the byline as Chelsea responded but Anelka stabbed wide from six yards.
Lampard tried his luck from a 30-yard free-kick but shot over and Drogba then curled one wide.
But Everton finished the half with a flourish and Saha should twice have given the hosts the lead.
First he was picked out in front of goal by Donovan but his first touch bought Cech time and the keeper rushed forward to save from point-blank range.
The former Manchester United forward had an immediate chance to make amends after Donovan was felled in the area by Carvalho but Cech guessed right and saved the resulting spot-kick to his left.
Everton did not let the miss affect them and started the second half well with a dangerous Bilyaletdinov cross palmed over the bar by Cech.
Saha then showed brilliant control to turn and create another shooting opportunity in the box but Carvalho just did enough to force him to fire wide.
Everton also started winning the 50-50 balls and Drogba showed a growing Chelsea frustration when he fired wildly at goal from more than 40 yards.
Bilyaletdinov showed good control in the area but his shot was blocked and a Donovan cross was just too high for Cahill.
Everton appealed for handball against Terry on the edge of the area but referee Alan Wiley's decision to play on was vindicated as replays showed the ball catching the face.
Pressure finally paid off as Everton deservedly went ahead through Saha after 75 minutes.
Terry missed the chance to cut out a long ball from Sylvain Distin and Saha brilliantly chested the ball down before turning and firing home powerfully with his left foot.
Chelsea, having been subdued for most of the second half, finally sparked into life but the crossbar came to Everton's rescue as Drogba met a Lampard corner with a good header.
Lampard then got in a shot at the end of a flowing move but Howard saved to his right.
