Three vehicles crash onto house

SUNGAI BULOH: A freak accident along KM453 of the North-South Expressway after the Sungai Buloh Hospital sent a trailer, a car and a motorcycle plunging 7m down onto a house beside the highway.

The 1.30pm incident yesterday killed the motorcyclist, while the trailer’s driver and passenger and the driver of the car were injured.

Sungai Buloh OCPD Supt Junaidi Bujang, said the driver of the Toyota Altis, Kajang police station deputy chief Sub-Inspector Syed Hashim Syed Ahmad, was travelling from Rawang towards Sungai Buloh and had tried to overtake the trailer, which was carrying two heavy concrete blocks.

Fire and Rescue Department officials said Syed Hashim claimed the trailer driver was travelling at over 120kph and was reckless.

As he swerved to the right lane, the front right tyre of the trailer exploded, causing the vehicle to collide with Syed Hashim’s car.

Both the vehicles came crashing through the road divider, into the opposite lane where they also hit motorcyclist Hamzah Abdul Rahman, 57, who happened to be passing by.
All three vehicles then smashed through another steel railing and plunged down a 7m slope, flattening a one-storey house. The accident also left one concrete block strewn in the middle of the highway, causing a massive jam on both lanes.

Supt Junaidi said Hamzah was killed on the spot while the trailer driver and passenger, Wong Kong Siong, 30 and Ng Kok Chuan, 25 sustained broken teeth and a broken left leg, respectively.

Syed Hamid, who was on sick leave, is believed to have sustained a cut to his forehead.

All victims were taken to the Sungai Buloh Hospital.

Thankfully, the owner of the house Mohd Fadzil Ahmad Ibrahim, 58 and his five children were not at home during the accident.

“I was selling nasi lemak at my store near the Selayang Hospital when my daughter called to te ll me that our house was destroyed,” the single father said.

Despite losing a huge portion of his home together with furniture and electrical appliances, Mohd Fadzil, who would be staying at the Kampung Seri Indah B surau for the time being, said he was just grateful he and his children, age 16 to 23, were all safe.

Landscaper Irwan Fazirul, 21 was travelling nearby the house when he saw the vehicles plummet right in front of him.

“I stopped in time otherwise I would have been crushed too.

“I heard a huge explosion and then I saw the trailer just falling onto the house. I was shaking like crazy, I was too shocked!” he said.

pastu treler langgar divider, pegi lane sebelah langgar motorist.. pastu terus slide ke bawah dan hempap rumah..
