Back in October, we reported that famous designer Jeremy Scott would be introducing a new Adidas collection inspired by his close friends, 2NE1.
The fierce foursome made an appearance today at the Adidas Original store in Myundong, Seoul for a photo session event introducing the ‘JS Collage Wing x 2NE1‘ collection. As expected, 2NE1 wore Jeremy Scott’s fashion pieces while showing off his ‘JS Collage Wings x 2NE1′ shoes. CL and Minzy drew especial attention with their radical change in hairstyles.
As mentioned previously, the ‘JS Collage Wings x 2NE1′ shoes has elements derived from 2NE1′s music, character, fashion style, and individual member qualities. In order to express the mix-and-match style unique to 2NE1, Jeremy Scott decided to incorporate the use of the collage technique.
Meanwhile, ‘JS Wing 2.0 Satin is made of pure white satin material and decorated with wings to evoke an angel design.
Check out the photos from the session below!
dara saaaaangat comey dan cantik in this vid. the song selection for this vid made it looks cool, serene and sweet
she doesn't aged at all! makin lama nampak makin muda
and how am i glad, finally dpt dengar balik dia cakap english. dah lama dia tak converse in english since dia balik dari the philippines.
i guess as time past by she just lost her confidence, but now she's back with her filipino-english accent go dara!
she successfully sums up everything we need to know about 2ne1 in this short interview with mtv iggy. and the best part, whe even mentioned about yuna...
Do you like any of the other BNB artists? If you could pick anyone to collaborate with 2NE1, who would you pick?
When I found out that 2NE1 was nominated, I listened to the music of the other nominees. I like Yuna. I want 2NE1 to collaborate with her.
With the Korean pop sensations poised to "take over America" (or at least try to) we asked fans in the world's great consumer music market to preview the band's latest video, "The Boys."
Josh, 22, Indiana
They're pretty, but their type of beauty doesn't match the kind of "American sexy" they're trying to emulate. It comes out as awkward.
They're obviously trying, but I don't think their attempt will be successful. America likes its music idols sassy and scandalous (see: Beyonce, Gaga, Rihanna, Ke$ha), and Girls' Generation cannot convincingly fake that same kind of persona. The only Korean girl group I can see succeeding in the U.S. at this point is 2NE1.
bole bayangkan "I Am the Best" metal version? hehehe...click below {:4_181:}
Korean rock band PIA covers ‘I Am The Best’ on Yoon Do Hyun’s MUST
A/N: Pia, which has a meaning of ‘Universe and I’ or ‘You and I’, is a nu metal band from South Korea. The band debuted in 1998 and was produced by Seo Taiji. After having its own concerts in September 2003, Pia joined the Linkin Park Korea tour and Limp Bizkit Korea tour in October and December respectably and heated up the opening stage. While experiencing big performance on big stage with international rock monsters, Pia has developed its own attraction as a true live band. In May 2004, Pia joined ‘Seotaiji Live in Vladivostok’ in Russia and spread Korea rock music to Russian rock fans.
i have no idea what they are talking about but i still enjoy it
these are back when they were still in japan. i guess the show just aired recently in japan.
2ne1 talking about high fashion and their styles
from 9:00 min onwards the hosts talk about 2ne1. i guess 2ne1 has some connection with the restaurant thayt they've visited. most probably the owner of the restaurant talk about how 2ne1 inspired them to name a few of their dishes with 2ne1's name. teehee!
Even though I’ve been able to mildly appreciate the various idol pop songs that are produced by the mainstream Korean pop industry, it’s only been in the last couple months that I’ve been particularly drawn to any particular idol group and its music. This group is YG Family’s 2NE1, a girl idol pop quartet, which debuted in 2009.
Interestingly enough, I first encountered 2NE1 via an introductory post regarding the discussion about cultural appropriation on Racialicious and before anything else, I was struck with the group’s eye-popping wardrobe and surprisingly found myself appreciating the production and songwriting of “Fire”, but soon after, my awareness of the group faded until Anna/helikoppter at IndiefulROK pointed towards a cover of 2NE1′s “I Don’t Care” by folk songstress obsession of mine, Osoyoung.
Again, in its stripped down arrangement by Osoyoung, I was struck by the smart songwriting and even lyric writing of the song and ended up searching out the original and promptly got addicted, searching out the videos that were made for their original debut and onto their first album. And while I have to credit former 1YTM member Teddy Park’s excellent production and songwriting talents for drawing me into the group, as he is 2NE1′s principal producer/songwriter, I have to say that I was also impressed by the image projected by this group, which might have started off a touch cute, but the quartet quickly developed a very defined image of feminine strength and independence.
Part of the reason why I think 2NE1 captures my attention in a sea of idol groups is precisely because of this projected attitude. There is no end to the number of girl groups who capture both the images of being innocent and cute and super sexy, but one of the off-putting elements to these images (along with song lyrics and performance) is that it often seems to be designed within the culture of male patriarchy. Specifically, the images projected seem to be designed to appeal to men, or to appeal to women to appeal to men. The virgin/whore paradigm is arguably locked into the image of many of these girl groups and even when many of the girl groups inevitably go for their “tough/sexy” image, even the dance choreography is often designed to be overtly submissively sexual (in particular, appealing to cis-hetero men).
Now, perhaps it’s because the quartet is rooted in a hip-hop ethos, common to most of YG’s performers, but the women of 2NE1 project a strong air of self-expression (even if manufactured). You can see this in their rather crazy hybrid of high and street fashion in their wardrobe, which can certainly be sexy, but even in its sexiness, with its high hemlines and bare midriffs, also manages to capture a kind of owned toughness, often accented with armor, spikes, chains, studs, and/or wild patterns and urban graphics. Likewise, the dance choreography of the group is heavily grounded in street styles, lending the group assertiveness, but does not ignore their own conception of strong femininity, which, like other girl groups, can project an air of sexuality, but you’ll notice that their dance moves, even when sexually hinting, are often aggressive and self-possessed (like the locomotion thrust move in “I Am the Best”), being more outward displays than come-hither invitations.
And yet, for all the strength on display, 2NE1 also doesn’t ignore the fact that even strong women can desire companionship. However, the group’s “love” songs are usually songs of regret (“It Hurts”), loneliness (“Lonely”), or moving on (“I Don’t Care”, “Go Away”). In some sense, this might speak a lot to strong women out there, who often find their strength in conflict with the competitive men that they might come to have affection for. And when you combine this multi-faceted approach to strong femininity with smart, ear-catching productions, songs and lyrics, often courtesy of the surprisingly thoughtful Teddy Park, you have what’s possibly the most inspiring girl group out there for young women (and men) to enjoy. In some ways, this quartet is a kind of spiritual inheritor to the Spice Girls in terms of projecting an image of being a strong, willful, female pop group that is self-possessed, all captured on some ear-and-eye-grabbing songs, videos and performances.
And for both catching the attention of my ears while still providing a small measure of strong femininity in a sea of Korean girl groups catering either directly or indirectly to men, I’ve developed quite a fondness for these girls and their producer. I see them as providing hope and strength to all the young women who absorb their music, salving and shoring them up against the avalanche of patriarchy that they inevitably face throughout their lives. And sure, they might be a Korean group with limited international exposure outside of Asia, but if there’s any Korean idol group that I’d want to be an international success, my pick would easily be 2NE1.
I don’t know if that means that you could call me a Blackjack (the 2NE1 fan club), but I’m pretty certain that you could call me a fan. Thanks, 2NE1, for holding it down for young women out there, everywhere.

The meteoric rise of 2NE1 could be a fable, foretold by the epic video for their recent single, “I Am The Best.” Dark gives way to light, as a mysterious hooded creature appears in the distance. As the camera swoops in, flashbulbs pop, synths and beats explode, and BOOM! the ladies of 2NE1 take the stage, twirling in tight black pantsuits and sensual abandon. “I am the best!” they sing, and you can almost hear their millions of fans around the world screaming in concurrence, reveling in the awesome, almost otherworldly presence of this dazzling and fierce foursome. 2NE1 represents a new type of global music star: one that inspires passion not with the language they speak or their cultural heritage, but with talent and sheer ambition. This — and a lot more — is why you voted 2NE1 into the vaunted role of MTV Iggy’s Best New Band in the World: When it comes to 2NE1, every last spike, sparkle, dance move and lyric counts. And it’s this level of dedication to perfection, coupled with 2NE1′s deep love of their fans, that got them where they are today. MTV Iggy welcomes you to the annals of US pop history, ladies of 2NE1. You’ve earned it
MTV Iggy, a multi-platform music brand connecting America with global artists and pop culture phenomena, announced Korean pop sensation 2NE1 as The Best New Band in the World 2011 following a six-week fan-driven and social media-intensive search. 2NE1, alongside fellow Best New Band in the World finalists will take over New York’s Times Square, to perform a scintillating live concert on December 12th at MTV’s Times Square Studios and other venues. The multi-location concert will be streamed on mtviggy.com, on MTV’s 44 1/2, a giant HD screen in Times Square and will be supported by various MTV properties.
As a result of a global fan voting process, 2NE1 came out on top after more than 4.25 million votes were cast from 169 countries.
Any band releasing a song titled “I Am the Best” rarely gets the chance to prove it. But for K-pop sensation 2NE1, it only took a few short months. CL, Dara, Bom, and Minzy — the four fiercest ladies of K-pop — went head-to-head against nine powerhouse musical acts. But like superheroes from a distant galaxy, like their own “Sudden Attack” video game avatars, they bested all before them. 2NE1′s instantly addictive hard-edged, synthesized, amalgamated pop sound pushes the group light years away from the girlie/sexy/cute female K-pop stereotype, winning the group legions of devoted fans far outside their hometown borders. They promised, “I’ll bring you all the way to the end, follow, follow, me.” And borne upon the shoulders of these Blackjacks, they’re leading the way forward in the 2NE1st century
cik stan...i can't content my happiness right now. firstly of course, for our boys, BB. and now..my girls won the MTV Iggy award too! this is truly a blast year with roller coaster rides for YG Family (and ehem...myself as well ). yup, congrats to the,! {:4_181:}

This September they finally graced Japan with their long awaited debut alongside their mini album “NOLZA”, the Korean 4 member girls group, 2NE1. With this, they acquired the number 1 spot on the Oricon Weekly Album Rankings and accomplished the feat of being the 3rd group in history of foreign artists that got “No.1 on their debut”. Furthermore, before their debut, they had a nationwide tour “2NE1 1st Japan Tour “NOLZA in Japan”” that broke records in gathering 70000 attendees for their debut live. Those super girls have finally decided to release their 1st single “GO AWAY” (on the 16th November). We had a talk with these girls who have rushed into full-fledged activities in Japan
Q: Your debut mini-album “NOLZA” was the number one ranked album in Oricon Weekly charts. Congratulations! Please tell us your sentiments.
CL: I was really glad. Although everyone’s reaction to our debut was a bit surprising, I was really happy.
BOM: The results were very surprising, it’s more than what we expected. With this, I think that I really need to study Japanese more.
DARA: It’s the first time that we were promoting in a country other than Korea, and I really thought that a lot of people still don’t know 2NE1. With these thoughts, being in Number 1, was only a dream. We promise to work harder in the future!
MINZY: I was very happy to hear that we ranked number 1. But what’s even more awesome is that a lot of people were showing interest in 2NE1.
Q: Your first Japan Tour, mobilized a total of 70,000 people, and it’s also a big achievement. Please tell us your opinions of the tour.
CL: Our first Japan concert, I think, was really fun and good? It gives off that feeling. I feel that we are in “Concert Addiction State,” right now. (laughs)
BOM: So many people came, and I was so happy! There were also a lot of fans who came dressed like 2NE1, it added a lot to our excitement! Someday, I’d want us to hold a concert at Tokyo Dome!
DARA: Our first concert tour was really a happy and marvelous time. With this opportunity, I’d really like to hold many concerts, in many other different places.
MINZY: From the beginning of the concert, everybody was already standing up, dancing and singing along with us, and it really felt like “NOLZA (play)” so because of that, I enjoyed it a lot!
