The Feline Leukemia Virus
About two weeks ago, I was presented with a seven-month old female spayed kitten that had suddenly stopped eating. Felix, a cute little black and white kitten, was found running around a dumpster in a lot near the back of a supermarket in Manhattan. After some gentle coaxing, she was scooped up by my client, who decided that her quiet studio apartment needed a kitten to liven up the place. Felix was taken to a local veterinarian who gave her a good physical exam, and then administered the first panleukopenia/upper respiratory virus vaccine. Three weeks later, she was given the second vaccine, as well as a rabies vaccine. Two months after that, she was spayed.
Now, three weeks after her spay operation, I was examining Felix for weakness, lethargy, and a sudden loss of appetite.
Upon questioning her owner, I discovered that Felix did well after her spay surgery. She recovered uneventfully, and went home the next day, where she ate, drank, and behaved normally. Three days before she was brought to our hospital, she was a little less frisky, but still appeared healthy. Over the course of the next two days, her lethargy progressed, and her appetite worsened. Now, she was totally anorexic, and almost too weak to stand on her own.
On physical examination, her eyes and ears were fine. When I examined her mouth, I noticed right away that her gums were as white as a sheet. This was markedly abnormal, and was indicative of severe anemia. Her lymph nodes were normal, and her abdomen felt fine. She didn抰 have a fever. The rest of her examination was fairly unremarkable. I asked the client if she had any medical records from her previous veterinarian. Looking at the invoices from her previous visits, I saw charges for vaccinations and for surgery, but no charges for a feline leukemia test. 揥as Felix ever tested for the feline leukemia virus? |

anak kucen kita baru je mati 2 minggu pas raya aritu...sedih tau sbb kita tgk cara dia mati...simptom2 dia sama mcm yg fad sebut kat pg1 tu...tp kita xnotice dia sakit smpila kita perasan dia dok sorang2 kat tepi kete...bila kita amik dia...dia diam aje..xnak makan...dia dok dlm umah pun nyorok2... ..esoknye balik dr keje kita tgk mak dh letak dlm kotak sbb dia xlarat nak jalan dh...masa kita tgk tu dia ngiau2 kat kita...lepas 5 minit dia pun mati...hua....sedih sgt...dia ada 3 beradik...sume aktif2 main2...
esoknye kita tgk plak adik2 dia yg 2 ekor lagi tu dh murung je...kita bg makan pun dia xnak...last2 kita bwk kita salah seko gi jumpa vet...doktor tu cek2 dia bgtau ada 2 punca...sama ada kutu terlebih byk atau sbb kecacingan...cek suhu badan dia dh 41darjah..tinggi woo...lepas cocok 2 suntikan doktor syorkan bg makanan dlm tin...dia suh try bg sama ada kucing tu nak makan atau tak...kalau xnak makan dh sumbat2 jgk..sbb badan dia dh terlalu lemah...tp kalau dia xleh terima jgk makanan tu..maknanyer umur dia dh xlama... ..balik2 tu kita bg 2 beradik ni makan...paksa2 jgk makan...skrg ni alhamdulillah...baru seminggu dia sihat...lega rasanyer.... |

Vet ader advise tak ...lepas kucing2 tu sihat mesti kena suntikan vaksin ..???
kalo anak2 bulus tu sihat ... kalo boleh bawak mereka pegi vaksin dulu ......
tapi awak kena pastikan mereka betul2 sihat ... kalo tak sihat mereka tak
boleh mendapat suntikan vaksin..... |

Saja nak bagi pengalaman la. Dulu masa menyewa kat rumah teres, biasa la kat depan rumah kan ade rumput2.baby puff suka makan rumput pagi2. pas tu dia suka jlan2 kat rumah jiran sebelah. jiran tu suka sembur racun kat depan rumah dia. biasanya kalo dia sembr acun, puff akan kurung baby bulu puff atau jaga masa dia keluar tu supaya tak terlepas ke rumah sebelah. Jiran puff tu akan bgtau kalo dia sembur racun. Ada satu hari tu, jiran ni dah lama tak sembur, tp aritu dia sembur tp agaknye lupa nak bgtau puff.baby puff main2 kat luar mcm biasa. Tau2 jer bila diorg balik, dah bernuih2 mulut diorang, air liur pun meleleh2 .masa tu tatao nak buat ape lagi. puff round2 bwk diorg nak cari klinik atpi hari ahad susah nak cari bwk klinik tutup. tawakal je laa simpan kat umah diam2 nak tunggu esok tp tak sempat dah innalillah. 3 eko jln sekali gus. sedey sgt masa tu....
jiran puff asik minta maaf jer. tp nak buat camne dah jadi kan.... |

sebelum nak bawak gi vet ... tomato kena pasti kan kucing tomato
takde deman ... flu...fleas... earmites pendek kata semua dalam keadaan
sihat lah .... bawak gi vet then tanya kat vet nak vaksin kucing .... kemudian
vet akan check suhu badan kucing dan check semua fizikal kucing tomato ....
kemudian dia akan deworm dan suntik vaksin....selepas dah suntik vaksin minta
kat Vet ... Makanan A/d Food sebab kemungkinan besar kucing tomato akan mengidap demam selama 2 - 4 hari ... masa tu mesti anak tu tak lalu makan so ...
beri anak tu ... a/d food .... bagi 3 syringe pun dah ok sebab a/d food nie mempunyai khasiat dan protein yang tinggi .... dan make sure bagi air secukup nya |

Ada, my cat lepas caesarian macam tu laa, vet kata it's an automatic response for cats bila dia jadi takut / develop fear. Kind of like a phobia laa, contohnya kalau manusia jadi gigil bila takut sangat2, cats will either mengigil or keluar air liur banyak / drooling yang banyak sangat.
Pandora punya queen cat, Cici, dia lepas caesarian, memang doktor suruh tinggalkan kat klinik for a few days untuk observation & further treatment. (Cici ni, kesnya, she had a very difficult pregnancy, bila delivery memang very difficult so doctor kena operate and remove the kittens, tu pun both kittens died, vet kata waktu pregnant Cici kena viral infection).
After the operation, bila bawak cici pegi vet, letak je Cici on the steel table, dia start drooling, menggigil. So baru tau, rupanya Cici dah develop fobia on meja besi macam kat klinik tu. Memang takde tanda sawan pun, it's just an automatic response, sort of like a coping mechanism laa. Dulu waktu bawak pi vet selalu she's fine, no problem tapi after operation memang jadi macam tu.
So in your case, maybe MiKie dah develop fear of cars. Takpe, what you need to do is bila bawak dia naik keter, someone kena pegang, jaga dia to reassure that she's fine. This condition is not permanent, after a while she will be ok, tapi kena sabar laa sikit, ok? |
