It's true, but many countries still must buy something from US in order to get a 'string' attached to the White House. In our case, US is our biggest investor. If they stop investing in Malaysia, say goodbye to Pepsi, Coca-Cola, KFC, McDonald, etc. |

Yeah, although the Mig-29's a cold war jet the series of upgrades carried out by Malaysia will bring it to a par with at least the F-16 Block 30/40 in capability.
But there's one thing I still don't understand. Why upgrade your stuff if you're only going to deactivate it. Pardon my offense but it sounds kind of stupid. |

I think so. I heard somewhere that the RMAF is going to de-activate the Mig-29s after the MKMs come into service due to a (temporary) shortage of fighter pilots. |
