Liverpool determined to land £14m-rated Sochaux starlet in January
Spanish newspaper Marca today revealed that Betis have also been tracking the 21-year-old and are hoping to land him by offering him guaranteed first team football.
Betis currently find themselves lying in 12th place in the league, while Liverpool will hope they can persuade Boudebouz to choose Anfield as they push for a place in Europe next season.
The Reds have had a steady start to the season and currently lie in sixth place with just two league defeats in their 11 games this season.
Liverpool are hoping to convince the attacking midfielder to leave the club in January and have sent director of football Damien Comolli to Sochaux on a number of occasions.
Comolli is a known admirer of the midfielder and has reportedly already held talks with Sochaux officials as they attempt to bring the Algeria international to the club.
Earlier this year Boudebouz admitted that there had been contact and that he held the club in high regards. "Liverpool are a big club and there has been contact."
It is believed that Souchaux would demand as much as £14million for the midfielder, a figure that is line with Liverpool's recent spending, especially concerning young players. |

Liverpool plan shock raid for Everton midfielder
According to caughtoffside.com, Reds director of football Damien Comolli has targeted a move for the 23-year-old right-sided player while manager Kenny Dalglish is also thought to be a fan.
Liverpool have been on the look-out for right-sided reinforcements and will reportedly try to take advantage of fierce rivals Everton's financial insecurity to launch a bid for Coleman.
The Republic of Ireland international broke into the Toffees first-team last season and has since established himself as an important member of the team. His consistency over the past 18 months has caught the eye of a number of interested clubs with Manchester United also suggested as a potential suitor.
If Coleman were to move across the city to Liverpool, it would surely cause a stir. However, the fact that David Moyes must raise funds before he can recruit new players could be a predicament that Everton supporters sympathise with |

Liverpool line up Lyon star
Versatile Cissokho, a left back who can also operate in midfield, is wanted by both the Reds and Newcastle, but he is believed to want a move to Anfield.
Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas has admitted the club will look for "some solutions", and it is believed they need to balance the books.
That means Liverpool may be able to drive a hard bargain at around £6million for the 24-year-old, as their director of football Damien Comolli has good links with Lyon. |

STEVEN Gerrard mengakui masih dihantui igauan setiap hari sekira-nya dia terlepas peluang menjulang gelaran Liga Perdana Inggeris.
Kapten Reds berkata dia sering berfikir mengenainya dan mengakui fikirannya pasti terganggu jika menamatkan kariernya tanpa peluang memegang trofi Liga Perdana Inggeris.
“Ia sesuatu yang saya fikirkan hampir setiap hari. Saya sentiasa terfikir mengenai impian memenanginya atau kekecewaan jika saya gagal menjulangnya.
“Sudah tentulah ia amat mengecewakan jika ia tidak menjadi kenyataan. Saya sudah menyarung jersi Liverpool dan bakal bersara selepas 14 atau 15 tahun dan pastinya mengecewakan jika saya tidak menang.
“Ia pasti memalukan tetapi ia bukan kerana kami kurang berusaha.

Lucas: I've been watching Xabi
![](http://assets2.lfcimages.com/uploads/lucas263_4eb94f6924a82250819632.jpg)
The 24-year-old was described as a 'box to box' player by Rafael Benitez upon his arrival on Merseyside in 2007.
Since then Lucas has become a Liverpool and Brazil regular by playing a holding position in front of the defence - a role he has perfected by studying players like Alonso.
"I've changed in all ways," the former Gremio man told Liverpoolfc.tv when asked how his game had evolved.
"Everyone knows I used to play further forward on the pitch and I had to adapt to a new style of game, a new pace, more physical. I think I've adapted well and I'm really enjoying my role in the team.
"Sergio Busquets is a player who is really good. Of course he has players around him who always help him and always make the simple pass. People can see how good he is.
"Xabi Alonso is a player I always watch and try to learn from. I had a few years with him here and I could see how good he was. Xabi would be my choice at the moment."
Lucas's calibration into a holding player has earned him numerous accolades in recent years, including LFC Player of the Season in 2010-11.
Another award came his way this week after he was named North-West Player of the Year, but while the Brazilian is happy with his form, there are still elements he would like to add to his game.
"I am really happy to be voted," he said. "I'm sure all the Liverpool fans worked really hard to make sure I won the award. They are always behind me and supporting me, and I'll try to repay them with performances on the pitch.
"I'd love to score more goals. That would be a good thing to improve. My role means I'm not able to be closer to the other goal but I'm looking to improve.
"I'm doing work in training. It's a question of position and the right time to take the risk to go forward. I am always thinking about the team so sometimes I don't take the risk because I'm worried what will happen if we lose the ball.
"I just need to work on it and choose the best time to go."
Lucas returned to Melwood a day ahead of our other international stars having played in both of Brazil's friendly wins in the Middle-East.
He has some interesting insights on the similarities between playing for club and country.
"With Liverpool, of course the expectation is always really high," he said. "Everyone expects Liverpool to be fighting for titles and winning big matches. For Brazil it's no different.
"We felt more pressure after the defeat in the Copa America, but the team is improving and I'm confident that both Liverpool and Brazil will have a successful season."
Another player excelling on the international stage at the moment is Luis Suarez, who scooped Player of the Tournament after helping Uruguay win the Copa America this summer, and who was this month shortlisted for the Ballon d'Or.
His four goals against Chile last week even prompted someone to start a Facebook group called 'Luis Suarez the new Lionel Messi'.
Asked about this comparison, Lucas said: "I was watching the Uruguay game and I was really happy for him - it's an amazing achievement.
"Messi has been playing and scoring many goals for many years. Of course Luis had a successful career at Ajax and now for Liverpool.
"They are different players - Luis has his power and he can create a lot of goals for himself. Messi with a lot of ability and pace is someone who is unstoppable. It's very hard to compare, just like comparing Ronaldo to Messi - they are different players.
"But at the moment, Luis and Messi are two of the best players in the world.
"It's the same question with Messi and Ronaldo - how do you stop them? You just have to try and most of the time it's not possible. Luis is a player who you don't know what he's going to do, which makes it even more difficult. Even in training it's really hard to play against him." |

Dalglish targets Irish ace
Reports in England have suggested that Kenny Dalglish is lining up an audacious January move for the Donegal youngster due to Everton's well-documented financial difficulties.
Coleman was a bargain buy for David Moyes when he swooped to sign the 23-year-old for £60,000 from Sligo Rovers in 2008. However, the versatile right-sided player could command more than £8m in the transfer window.
He signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with Everton last January, and is understood be on a contract in the region of £25,000 a week.
Liverpool would have the financial clout to make a move for his services, though, and Coleman fits the bill of young, home-grown talent from this part of the world that Dalglish is looking to recruit.
Everton's Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini signed a new deal with the club yesterday, and urged his employers to make sure they keep hold of young talent like Coleman and Jack Rodwell.
The Irishman was so impressive last season that he was voted onto the PFA Young Player of the Year shortlist by his peers. Injury halted his start to this campaign, but he has shown glimpses of his previous form, although he is yet to fully break into Giovanni Trapattoni's plans.
Indeed, he faces a fight to nail down a place in the squad for next summer's Euro 2012 finals in Poland and Ukraine. |

Reds sign Dons teenager
![](http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/multimedia/dynamic/00637/Football_-_Premier__637942t.jpg)
The 14-year-old midfielder will make the move to the Reds' Kirkby Academy after four years with the Dons.
Ojo was capped twice by England Under-16s during their recent Victory Shield campaign.
"This is the opportunity of a lifetime for Seyi and his parents which has proved far too difficult to turn down," said MK Dons chairman Peter Winkelman.
"There has been a lot of interest and speculation regarding Seyi which he has coped with admirably.
"We are extremely proud to have Seyi in our record books as our first schoolboy to receive an international cap. Everyone at the club would like to wish Seyi the best of luck in his future and we all look forward to the day he runs out at Anfield."
Ojo, who had been with the Dons' Academy since 2007, played for the club's under-18s aged 13, was a regular in the under-16s and had trained with the senior squad.
Chelsea had also been linked with a move for the teenager but Liverpool have beat off the competition to secure his signature. |

Kuyt's Chelsea confidence
![](http://assets2.lfcimages.com/uploads/kuyt263a.jpg)
The Reds travel to London on Sunday for the mouth-watering Barclays Premier League clash and while the Dutchman is well aware the game will provide a difficult challenge for Kenny Dalglish's side, he's certain Liverpool have enough quality within their ranks to return north with three points.
Kuyt told Liverpoolfc.tv: "Everyone knows how tough it can be at Stamford Bridge, but we all look forward to the big games. We did really well against Arsenal away, and hopefully we can get the same result at Chelsea.
"The key is to stick together, be a team, have a great performance and believe in our qualities. We have a great team and have the possibility to beat them.
"We have a lot of quality in the team and we can only get better and better.
"I am always confident because I believe this team can win every game."
Liverpool emerged victorious in last season's corresponding Barclays Premier League fixture, winning 1-0 at Stamford Bridge in February.
However, Kuyt feels the Reds' summer transfer dealings make them an even stronger proposition this time around.
"I think we have more strength in the team now and definitely more depth," he said. "They have also added a couple of quality players - it will be interesting to see Raul Meireles again and everybody knows how good Mata can be.
"It will be an interesting game and we're all looking forward to the big games, we can't wait to play them, and hopefully we can get the three points."
As well as Meireles, Liverpool are also likely to come up against another former Anfield old boy in the form of Fernando Torres.
Kuyt said: "We've played against Fernando already, and that's always strange. The first time is always the most difficult, but once you're on the pitch you want to do and you try to do everything to do that."
Meanwhile, Pepe Reina believes concentration levels could be key in determining which side prevails on Sunday.
"It is always tough to play there and we will have to be ready to get a result," said the Reds goalkeeper.
"We have to maintain our philosophy and be clever. We have to be ready from the very first minute and make sure we don't make mistakes that can cost us." |
