Only if Children were Teachers…Bhavika

Paulo Coelho said “A child can teach an adult three things: to be happy for no reason, to always be busy with something, and to know how to demand with all his might that which he desires.”

Its only when I embarked on this journey of motherhood did I realise that we have a lot to learn from a child – each day can be a learning experience. But its the society we live in that triggers the process of bringing up a child within the set norms, totally disregarding the blossoming of a beautiful flower, if allowed to grow, guided by curiosity.

A child is connected to the ‘source’ much more than we are – he is always in the moment; living in the present, fearless and carefree. The conditioning that takes place while the child is growing up plays an important role in framing his consciousness, because it eventually becomes a part of the ‘subconscious mind’.

Imagine being told every time what to do, what not to do – and the wall of rules built around them obstructs his freedom to live life, as a result it encourages him to become rebellious. We were all born free!

Research reveals that 95% of the time humans use their subconscious mind which is the habit mind programmed from childhood till the age of 6, after which your life is controlled by those habits. Then as an adult you unlearn and deprogram what has been taught to you as a child! Why do we need to reach a stage like that?

When he is told how to think/react in a certain way for a particular situation hampers his ability to figure things out! A child is always happy, at least most of the times, don’t hold grudges against anyone, so forgiving and caring!

He is fully aware, observant, curious at all times, and adults, caught up in their cluttered mind; miss out on the simple joys or wonders of life. For instance, a small insect will catch the attention of a child as compared to an adult, since he is tuned in to every vibration and frequency around him.

Most children and teenagers have dominant theta and alpha brainwave patterns. Both these are considered extremely relaxing brainwave activity, which kick in when our mind and body are completely free of stress. The same brainwaves also boost their creativity and ability to retain massive amounts of information that gets stored in long-term memory.

Lets learn from the little ones, who are far better teachers of things that truly matter, they know how to live life and be happy. Don’t cut their wings, let them explore as thats what life is all about.
