kalau nak owang yakin dgn kite nyer presentation, kita sendiri mesti yakin dan look confident too... sbb kalau diri sendiri tak baper paham topik yg bakal di'present', dah tentu bila nak 'present' nervous nyer akan lebih dan nampak pada audiens yg mendengar...

so, one of the tips is that u dalami dulu topik yg perlu dipersembahkan, fahamkan dan beri presentation dgn yakin, yakin dgn setiap lontaran perkataan... pasal nervous tu, mula2 mmg akan nervous, but as u go along, nervousness will disappear... the key is be confident...

anggap diri sendiri sbg org yg pandai dan pakar dlm bidang yg nak di present kan tu. tapi jgn sampai ter over confident.. takut nanti audient meluat nak dengar ur presentation.

the only way to get over it is to get used to it, by doing it as frequently as possible.

pastu tengok audience gak. lain audience, lain cabarannya. contohnya, aku quite comfortable gak presenting in front of classmates, but bile aku start mengajar aritu, cuak gak. but after a few weeks it's gone.

the way aku approach presentation camni. aku bukan orang yang reti nak ad-lib, so aku buat presentation tu macam stage performance. everything scripted, and aku rehearse, and try to act natural, like it's not really scripted.

and try not to lock your sight to any audience member. spread the attention equally. and don't try to be funny, if you don't think you are.

and satu sebab aku prepare gile gile is, aku nak audience aku pay attention kat aku. one common mistake yang aku selalu nampak ialah, presenter tak fully prepared. and ade annoying habits. that's distracting. when the attention of the audience is distracted, they'll show the lack of interest in your presentation. and when you notice that, you'll get even more nervous.

so, nak buat orang yakin, you have to look confident in what you're saying as well. everything must be worded as accurately as possible. don't try to cover too much material. that's one common mistake too. you need to give the audience the time to digest what you're presenting. so to me it's ok  to cover less material but in good depth. if they want to know more, they'll ask.

lagi satu, keep in mind that your visual aid is just and aid. it's not supposed to be way too cool or contains too much information that the attention of the audience will be taken away from you. rule of thumb is, try avoiding full sentences in your slides. use bullet points, and you will explain it to them verbally. that way they'll have the slides as general idea and guide to the presentation, and your explanation as its essence.

oh one more thing, know your audience. it helps you word your presentation. maksud aku, kalo yang denga tu bebudak skola rendah, tak leh pakai jargon yang dak U baru paham. or kalo ko cakap ngan orang Business, jangan harap sangat dorang familiar ngan Engineering terms etc. otherwise, you'll lose the audience. You cannot afford that.
