Tentera bersekutu wat camno pon, Taliban ttp guna taktik sama gak.

Punya la havoc buat kempen ketenteraan, blom mula lg dah canang satu donia. Yg Taliban, cam biasa, sblm kena operasi, pakat berundur ramai2, bagi tentangan ala-ala suam kuku. Pas tentera bersekutu isytihar 'kemenangan', puak2 Taliban mai balik, rampas balik kawasan setelah menyembelih garison tentera Afghan kat situ.

Pi mai pi mai, tang tu jugak ...

Defense Official: Operations In Marjah And Helmand Has Been Successful

By Monique Cala University of New Mexico/ Talk Radio News Service

Secretary of Defense for Policy Michele Flournoy said she was ‘optimistic for the future’ of military offenses in the Afghan towns Marjah and Helmand.

“So far the evidence suggest this fundamental shift and approach has been extremely successful,” said Flournoy during a hearing with the Senate Armed Services Committee. “The percentage of Afghan civilian casualties caused by coalition actions has dropped substantially.”

The operation is a combination of International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and Afghan forces working together to remove the Taliban and restore security to Marjah and central Helmand.

Flournoy highlighted how the perception of Americans on the ground in Afghanistan has improved recently due to the fundamental approach. Yet, the joint staff did warn that things could get worse before they get better.

“We may well see increases in violence, increase in attacks on our forces,” said Flournoy. “Our adversaries are cunning, they are adaptable, they are tenacious and we will need to continually reaffirm out commitment and refine our response.”

Lieutenant General John Paxton said, “In spite of recent success, we know this is going to be a hard fight. There are going to be pockets of intense resistance. There will be perhaps one step forward two steps back for awhile.”

The ratio of Afghan Armed forces to U.S. troops in Marjah is now 1 to 2. Senator Carl Levin (D-Mich.) called it ‘considerable progress’ from 1 to 5 last September.

“Operation Moshtarak is first operation in Afghanistan where coalition planning has been fully interrogated with our Afghan partners from the very start,” added Paxton.

Kabul dispatch: Operation Moshtarak

Although the international media's focus on the Marjah offensive in Helmand province is pervasive, some Afghans I've spoken with are wondering why Operation Moshtarak has been talked about so much -- and those are the ones who have heard of the offensive at all. Some Afghans in Kabul, where I'm currently based, are clueless about what is going on in a province 400 miles from where they live.

Some Afghans, like other observers, are also wondering what the strategic importance of Marjah is to Afghanistan overall, and criticize the operations. Some believe the hype around Operation Moshtarak is all part of an elaborate American publicity stunt to bolster support for the Obama administration's 30,000-troop surge, announced in late December. This might be possible, but the offensive is also part of top U.S. and NATO commander Gen. Stanley McChrystal's approach of bringing security to Afghanistan, one district at a time. That Afghan police and soldiers are waiting to take over the area when (and if?) the Taliban are defeated is also seems to be a new development. But after Marjah, there are most likely other districts that are completely under the Taliban's control and independent of Kabul's authority, and some Afghans are wondering where the coalition will move next.

But the majority of Afghans I've spoken with here in Kabul aren't too concerned about Operation Moshtarak. They could care less about what's happening in some district far from them; their main worries are their immediate security and making enough money to feed and clothe their families. Often, Afghans -- like the rest of us living and working here -- don't understand the enormous international attention dedicated to such operations; indeed when it was announced, many people here didn't even know that Marjah was a major Taliban stronghold.

But Afghans who are aware of Operation Moshtarak and follow it on the news are worried about the thousands of families that have been displaced because of the offensive. Migrating from place to place is not something new to Afghans; most have suffered from it for more than 30 years. Afghans get distressed when thinking of those families, asking, "How long will their relatives take care of them when those relatives themselves are barely able to provide for their own families?" Despite the difficulties, according to reports, many respected tribal elders are working together with the international forces to oust the Taliban from the region.

Whether this offensive will be successful or even carried on in other major Taliban strongholds remains unknown. It's too soon to judge how Operation Moshtarak has gone so far, and the best thing is to continue remaining cautious about declaring victory and a secure Marjah.

Seriously, apa beza Operasi Mushtarak dgn mana2 operasi lain? Objektif, membersihkan wilayah bergolak drp Taliban ... Check!

Objektif, menahan suspek2 yg bersekongkol dgn taliban & talibarut serta melumpuh rangkaian lojistik & komunikasi .... Check!

Objektif, setelah operasi Taliban dilumpuhkan, menyerahkan urusan pentadbiran pd pegawai Afghan korup & pertahanan pd tentera Afghan yg tak terlatih .... Within scope!

Drp pihak Taliban ... berundur ke pergunungan Afghan ... check! Meninggalkan sbgh pejuang Taliban drp wilayah berkenaan utk memberi tentangan .... check! Regroup, bina kekuatan, membtk rangkaian lojistik baru, rancang tindakbalas serangan berani mati di mana2 wilayah Afghan. Spt biasa menanam IED di mana2 lokasi seluruh Afghanistan.

Errrr, apa lg yg baru .... semua sama je ....

Penceroboh hanya perlu perbanyakkan perundingan dan mengenali kehendak para pejuang dan rakyat afganistan... cara paksaan bersenjata tidak membawa penceroboh kemana mana pun. afganistan adalah negara mangsa kerangkusan kuasa besar dunia.....

Taliban hanya akan menang kalau tentera bersekutu NATO menarik diri & berundur meninggalkan Afghanistan.

Kemenangan mutlak Taliban adalah untuk menghancurkan tentera & polis Afghanistan & menjatuhkan kerajaan Afghanistan tajaan Barat.
