Kim Chiu flies high with debut album
AT first sight of Kim Chiu, one will surely notice her sweet smile that makes her pretty face glow. But this 17-year old Chinese Cebuana is more than just beautiful.
Now at the peak of her career, lovely Kim releases her first solo album entitled Gwa Ai Di - a compilation of pop and teen love songs that will make you want to sing all day long. It is composed of eight tracks, which include the carrier single, Crazy Love, an enchanting rhythm that will trap you into daydreaming. It speaks about a bittersweet scenario, a love that can never be.
Another potential hit single, Trying, has a positive mood that springs from the idea of knowing what love is. Meanwhile, there are 3 Chinese songs in the Album : Peng Yeo, The Moon Represents My Heart, and Gwa Ai Di. Kim first sang Peng Yeo inside the PBB house. This is a friendship song done the Kim way and transcends any age bracket. The other Chinese song, The Moon Represents My Heart, is usually sang during weddings. The song Gwa Ai Di offers a more mature perspective on romance.
Carrying the actual title of Kim Chiu抯 album, it represents Kim's growth as an artist as well. Meanwhile, her duet I've Fallen For You with Gerald Anderson will surely make a lot of fans beam with excitement especially with their upcoming movie to be shown mid-August of this year. [size=100%]Teen stars Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson mark their first anniversary in show business by topbilling their first starring movie I've Fallen For You, which is now in production under Star Cinema. This also marks the directorial debut of Lino Cayetano for the big screen.
The love team of Kim and Gerald梠ften referred to as Kimerald梬ill be tested in this romantic comedy flick that tackles learning to deal with your family's past.
Lino previously co-directed the ABS-CBN soaps Mga Anghel na Walang Langit and Calla Lily. He also dabbles in music video directing, the most recent of which is Toni Gonzaga's Catch Me I'm Fallin'.
When asked to describe Kim and Gerald on the set of their movie, Direk Lino told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), "Sweet sila sa isa't isa. Sweet sila sa amin and ang babait nilang tao. Sila 'yung taong kahit hindi sila artista magugustuhan mo sila. Masaya silang kasama. Sila 'yung tipong masarap kasama sa set, nakikipag-biruan sa lahat ng tao. Magaan kasama."
The director believes that Kim and Gerald both have the capacity to stay long in showbiz. "Kasi matalino silang mga bata, bright 'yung future nila. Kung, para sa akin, kung gusto nilang mag-stay long? Kayang-kaya nila. Pero kung hindi man, sila rin 'yung tipo ng tao na kaya lahat, e, pwedeng gawin sa buhay. 慪an ang matatalino, mababait.
"But it terms of kung kaya ba nilang tumagal? Oo, because I think they are very talented. More than talented dahil nirerespeto nila 'yung propesyon. Nirerespeto nila, meaning walang tigil silang nag-aaral, 'yung walang tigil sila sa intensyon nilang gumaling."
When asked about the memorable moments that they had while shooting I've Fallen For You in Sta. Rosa, Tagaytay, Direk Lino narrates a heartwarming incident that took place on the set.
"Ang pinakamasaya sa amin is nung nagba-bike sila...Marami silang eksenang nagbibisikleta and enjoy na enjoy 'yung dalawa. Hindi pa kami naka-set up nakikita na namin na nagba-bike sila. Isang beses pagtingin namin ang layo na nila, e, silang dalawa lang. Tuwang tuwa sila.
"Sobra nilang busy eh, so siguro na-e-enjoy nila 'yung moment nila minsan na open field梥ilang dalawa lang nagbi-bisikleta, so habang nagse-set up pa kami pagtingin na lang namin napakalayo na nila. Mga isang kilometro ang layo. Kinunan na rin namin kasi ang cute nilang tignan, silang dalawa lang nag-e-enjoy," recalls Direk Lino.

 ABS-CBN'S top-rated soap, "Sana Maulit Muli," is ending tonight. Its regular viewers will finally find out who between Travis (Gerald Anderson) and Jasmine (Kim Chiu) will survive and live. Will they have a happy ending or a heartbreaking one? Is death the only way out for one of them to survive? "We assure you you'll have a good cry as the series ends,"says Gerald. "I'd really like to thank ABS for giving us this soap as it helped me so much to develop my acting skills in drama."

They will soon be shooting their second movie after "First Day High," to be directed by Lino Cayetano, the rumored BF of KC Concepcion who gets to meg his first full-length film.

Although Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu both said that they have nothing to admit as of the moment, happy na sila na special ang kanilang friendship. According to Gerald, hindi pa naman daw niya nasasabi kay Kim ang mga katagang, "I've fallen for you."
"Hindi pa kasi siya ready and I respect her for that. But I know nararamdaman niya how special siya sa akin. Maybe, at the right time, darating din kami dun, yung sweet relationship," sabi ni Gerald sa panayam sa kanya ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) sa presscon ng movie nilang I've Fallen For You sa 9501 restaurant ng ABS-CBN.
Sa naturang movie ay may kissing scene sila ni Kim, although smack lang naman daw ito. Na -excite ba si Gerald nang kunan ang eksenang ito?"Of course! Naka-take three nga po kami sa kissing scene!" ngisi ng binata.Nakailang girlfriends na ba si Gerald bago siya sumali sa Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition at napasabak sa showbiz? "I had three girlfriends already. All of them, sila ang nakipaghiwalay sa akin," pag-amin niya.
"DARLING" OF THE PRESS. Meanwhile, naging malaking issue kay Gerald ang pagiging "isnabero," "suplado," at pagkakaroon ng "amnesia" niya diumano sa entertainment press, pero agad naman niyang idinepensa ang kanyang sarili tungkol sa bagay na ito.

Kim Chiu has no ill feelings towards her mother who abandoned them
"Hindi ko nga po alam na may mga questions na ganito... yung tungkol sa mommy ko. Wala, nandiyan na," very honest na pahayag ni Kim Chiu nang makapanayam siya ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) sa second presscon ng launching movie nila ni Gerald Anderson, ang I've Fallen For You ng Star Cinema, kaninang tanghali, September 17, sa 9501 restaurant ng ABS-CBN.
Tinanong kasi si Kim ng PEP kung bakit ngayon yata ay tila mas open na siyang sumagot ng mga tanong tungkol sa kanyang ina. Dati kasi, iniiwasan talaga ni Kim na sagutin ang anumang question about her mother na nang-iwan sa kanila when she was only nine years old. Simula nga raw nang umalis at iwan sila ng kanyang ina ay never pa silang kinontak muli or nagkaroon ng kahit isang beses na communication.
"Wala po...wala na po kaming kontak," sabi ni Kim. "Hinayaan ko na lang po. Kasi nasa tao naman po 憏on kung gusto ka niyang makita at makausap. Mahirap din naman pong pilitin kung ayaw naman po pala."
Wala ba siyang ginawang way para hanapin ang ang kanyang ina?
"Ayaw na rin po kasi ng lola ko sa side po ng daddy ko na hanapin po," sagot ng dalaga. "Sa ngayon po, okay na rin naman kasi ang family. Baka po kung ano, magkagulo lang din po."
Kung sakali ba at biglang magpakita ang mommy niya, ano kaya ang posible niyang maging reaction?
"Siyempre po, matutuwa po ako na dumating siya. Malay mo, dahil sa kanya, maka-bless pa po sa movie. Siguro po, tatanungin ko na lang po siya kung bakit siya umalis, kung bakit niya kami iniwan," sabi ni Kim.
Walong taon na rin simula nang iwan sila ng kanyang ina. May sama ng loob ba siyang nararamdaman para sa kanyang ina?
"Noong una, meron," pag-amin niya. "Pero sabi nga nila, hindi magandang magtanim ng sama ng loob. Kasi kapag galit na galit ka, anong gagawin mo? Nandiyan lang ang galit sa puso mo. Hindi ka magiging masaya. Kaya wala na yung sama ng loob. Wala na, matagal na. Eight years na, e."
Ayaw na nga lang sabihin ni Kim kung ano ang pangalan ng kanyang ina at kung ano ang dahilan kung bakit sila nagawang iwan nito.
"Siyempre, masakit po 憏on kasi ang bata pa po namin noon. Pero nagsilbi po yung aral sa akin. Na kapag naging mommy na ako, hindi ko iiwan ang mga anak ko para hindi sila masaktan," pangako niya.
Ayon kay Kim, taga-Dumaguete raw ang kanyang ina. Bagama't may dugong Chinese din ito, mas malaki raw ang percentage ng pagiging Filipino nito. Wala rin daw contact ang young actress sa mga relatives niya sa mother side niya dahil kahit daw noong kasama pa nila ang ina ay hindi rin daw niya nakikita ang mga ito.
Tulad niya, wala rin daw itinatanim na sama ng loob ang mga kapatid sa inang nang-iwan sa kanila.
"Wala po. Kasi po, ang lola ko po, palagi niya po kaming sinasabihan na hindi naman po kami dapat magtanim ng sama ng loob. Na wala naman daw po kaming dapat na ikagalit," ani Kim.
Natatawa na lang daw si Kim dahil simula nang mapanood siya sa Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition hanggang ngayon ay maraming nagpapadala ng letters sa kanya at pictures claiming na sila ang tunay niyang ina.
"Opo...meron po talagang ganoon...may pictures pa nga! Sabi ko nga, 慉no ba 憈o?' Yung ibang picture, sobra naman pong Intsik. Kulang na lang po, magpadala sila ng mga 'Made in China.' Nandiyang nasa Cebu raw sila, nasa ganito, tawagan ko raw po... Natatawa na lang kami ni Ate Portia [her handler in Star Magic]. Sabi nga ni Ate Portia, 態aka ako pala ang mommy mo!'" natatawang kuwento ni Kim.
Ayon kay Kim, dahil daw sa pangyayaring ito sa kanyang buhay ay masasabi niyang mas naging better person siya.
"Kasi hindi po ako nag-depend sa magulang ko. Kaya kong mabuhay na ako lang mag-isa," sabi niya.
Hindi rin daw niya masasabing may kulang sa kanya sa kabila ng pagkawala ng kanyang ina.
"Sobra-sobra pa nga po," sambit niya. "Sa lahat ng hiniling ko, sobra-sobra pa po ang ibinigay sa akin. Noon, ang hiniling ko lang po makapasok ako sa PBB, ibinigay po. Tapos sobra-sobra pa po.
"Yung tungkol sa mommy ko, tama na po 憏un, huwag na lang nating pag-usapan," mangiyak-ngiyak na pakiusap niya bilang pagtatapos.
