Allen was inspired by the book Jill Posener "Only Girl", but wanted to raise the image of female masculinity to a new level. "I lived in San Francisco, and while it was a city of masculine women ... but to prove it was only this book, and only a handful others like them." Feeling that it is unfair, Meg Allen decided to create his own project, dedicated to masculine women.
