Nik Omar not allowed to preach at mosque named after father

KOTA BARU: Nik Omar Nik Aziz has been barred from being the imam and preaching at the Tok Guru mosque, named after his late father and former Pas spiritual adviser Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat.
This followed his decision to join Pakatan Harapan in the 14th general election.
Nik Omar, who lost the battle for the Chempaka state seat, said this was the price he had to pay for his decision to join PH.
The decision to bar him, he said, was made by his family, all of whom remain staunch Pas supporters and members.
Nik Omar said, prior to this, he had been tasked by the family to preach every Wednesday and Thursday at maghrib prayers at the mosque, and at subuh prayers every Friday.
On other days, other family members were designated to preach. This was the unofficial arrangement after Nik Aziz passed away.
“This morning, however, my younger brother Nik Abduh was the imam and he was the one who preached. After that, he greeted me and I asked him whether it was still alright to greet me.
“He told me that this (barring Nik Omar from preaching) was the decision of the family... I am no longer allowed to preach at the mosque. This is the price I have to pay.
“Whatever it is, when I went over (to PH), (I knew) there was no turning back for me,” he said during a religious talk at Wisma Tok Guru.
The father of five said one of the main reasons why he joined PH was that he believed the country’s leaders prior to GE14 had been tyrants and had only been interested in making money.
“That was why we wanted to change (the federal government)... we pitied the people, especially those in rural areas as they had been suffering for decades.” |

Sedih baca news ni. Kisah dr keluarga yg dihormati ramai, kalau arwah bapa depa ada mesti sedih sgt, keluarga berpecah semata sbb pegangan politik berbeza. Pengajaran utk kita semua politik ni urusan dunia jer. Jdkan la Islam way of life bkn “pakaian” semata |

Hahaa terima kasih no.. prihatin gak hg. Btw ni kisah sedih ni. Family bercakaran sbb politik even dikenali dgn memperjuangkan Islam & dididik dgn Islam sejak lagir. |

Pas ni parti Islam tapi suka jadi pemecah. Dekat kg2 mesti ada masjid pas. Kalau parti lain masuk solat, mesti pandang semacam. Ini pas perak la. Negeri lain tak nampak sangat. |

Itu dia... ape dah jadi dgn PAS ni selepas ketiadaan TGNA... rosak, rosak dah...
Bila aku kate jgn percaya sangat dgn PAS Hadi ni, kena tuduh BN 2.0. Skarang ko tengok lah ape diorang buat kat anak TGNA dan PH.
Teringat TGNA puji Mat Sabu tidak tunduk kpd Amno! Puji dia mesra dgn yg bukan Islam membantu PAS senang diterima mereka, tapi skarang PAS bertentangan dgn pendirian TGNA |

Anwar tu..yg bkn background agama.xblaja smpai AL Azhar pn..tapi Kene fitnah,penjara, keluarga Kene tinggal bertahun-tahun..tapi mampu maafkan madet..
Sedangkan..haji Hadi tu belajar agama tinggi..org pas kata dia level satu tangga dri Yusuf Al-Qardhawi..org pas puja.tapi berdendam dgn Madey smpai mati

nik omar tu bkn tukar agame pun..cume berbeza pandangan politik aje pun..n iols nk slhkn mak dorg ni juge sbb jd punce makin bara amarah pengikut yg lain..
