My review?
Kick Ass is among the movie that you thought was going to be good, but turned out to be better in the cinemas.
The pacing was great, the acting was excellent. The plot is both original and entertaining. Your 2 hour long movie watching will be full of ROFLMAO moments, gory scenes, and most important of all - a very enjoyable one. It's unclear as to how many scenes will be cut short by Msian's LPF, but truth be told; if you're going to want to enjoy this movie, you're going to have to watch the uncensored version. If not, it's not even worth it.
Hit Girl, one of the main characters is the most foul-mouthed 12 year old that you're going to see on any film with her dictionary of åssholes, çünts, and mo†herƒuckers; and she's also the most entertaining character in the film. [played by Chloë Grace Moretz]
Nic Cage as Big Daddy is just as excellent even though, I don't get the many impressions that he did in the film.
Aaron Johnson as the title character is just picture perfect. Dorky looking in the film, managed to pull of everything in his scenes.
In short, Kick Åss was such a Kick Åss movie and I give it 4.5/5 ! Definitely among my top 5 movie this year, as of yet. [Equal placing at number 1 is Kick Åss and A Single Man ]
Interesting trivia?
Matthew Vaughn is the same director for Stardust.
Aaron Johnson is the same guy who played Robbie in the movie - Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging. [i know it's kinda a Disney/Nickelodeon movie, but it was my guilty pleasure ^_^]
Mika made the official theme song for the film, entitled Kick Åss as well. [Give this a listen. It's a perfect song for this movie tbh. Although, weirdly enough, Mika's song was never played in any of the scenes in the movie nor was it in the ending credits.]
p/s: this is not a slapstick movie. |
